Indexing the old records that were scanned several years ago; they are still not searchable.
I want to set up a system for requested research. This office holds all the records, no one should be turned away.
Making sure the office is always open to the public during posted hours; no one should have to make the drive to the courthouse to find the office empty or locked up.
Providing a friendly and welcoming environment for the public and lending support to the other county offices.
I have a background in office management and project coordination - both required attention to detail and record maintenance.
Working as an assessor in the county equalization office has made me skilled in interpreting complicated legal descriptions on a variety of documents. The job also led to relationships with both township and city officials.

Paying attention to all the small details will ensure the work isn't sloppy. The records aren't any good to anyone if they are recorded in the wrong jurisdiction.
Getting those scanned documents indexed and searchable will help anyone who isn't able to come to the courthouse.
Being available and willing to provide assistance and research. Nobody should be told no.
In addition to the public, other county offices use the information - giving them incorrect data can have large consequences.
