Making Ramsey County a Business Friendly Environment
Continue to Protect the Ag Sector as that is the number 1 driver of our economy
Get a handle on property taxes. Property taxes have doubled in the last 10 to 15 years. Yet we really have nothing to show for it.
Our dwindling and aging population is becoming a problem. Our young people are not sticking around or coming back after college. Why? Because of limited opportunities. Which in turn is one less person buying a house or renting a house. One less person spending their hard earn dollars in our communities. Which in turn makes the rest of us see the constant tax increases. If we create more opportunities we stabilize or lower the tax burden on everyone.
We need to create more incentives to build.
I do expect it will. But if you did not notice many counties have already figured out to raise the property valuation to make up for it. Hardly, seems ethical to me but that is what was done. They can deny it all they want. But there has been no proof presented to prove otherwise.
So many Infrastructure projects become major Infrastructure projects because the little bit of maintenance needed to avoid the major infrastructure projects has not been done. I feel in the roads department that is getting better. But it takes time. Still have some things to address. Most townships have very limited funding which does hinder the ability to do the little things to avoid the big things.
