What are your top priorities?

What is your experience with preparing and overseeing budgets?

What leadership experience would you bring to this role?

How would you manage the election process to ensure safe, fair, and accessible elections?

Do you foresee a potential shortfall in the County's budget? If so, how would you address it?

My top priorities are ensuring fiscal responsibility, fiscal sustainability, and administering safe and fair elections.
I have over 9 years of experience overseeing and preparing budgets, all of which is at the county government level. I also serve on several Boards where I have also been appointed to the Finance Committee to assist in review and evaluation of fiscal priorities and ensure policy compliance.
I have served as McKenzie County's Auditor/Treasurer for nine years and worked as a deputy in the office for three years prior to my appointment. I also have experience serving in various capacities, including executive committee, on many external Boards and Councils. I also am a graduate of Rural Leadership North Dakota, an 18-month immersive program to build and enhance leadership skills in rural communities.
Administering elections and ensuring safe, fair, and accessible elections is my favorite part of the job. Qualified voters have the right to vote in the matter in which they choose and to have confidence their votes will be counted as cast - that is my top priority in election administration.
I do not see a potential shortfall in the County's budget at this time. I work hand-in-hand with the Board of County Commissioners and continue to provide the guidance and advice on fiscal matters as they are presented.
