Property tax relief, economic development, and budget transparency.
Lack of housing. I’m working with city administration to reduce barriers for developers and entice builders to make investments in our community.
Housing is an incredibly challenging issue. We have a shortage of housing at every price range and every type of structure from single-family detached to high density multi-family. As a city we need to encourage construction of any and all types of housing. We will be looking at incentives for developers as well as stretching special assessments out over more years to help make home renting or buying easier to afford.
I expect the cap will force us to continue to prioritize responsible budgeting. I have no concern Grand Forks will have a revenue problem.
I’ve been responsible for city budgeting for 16 years. I will continue to scrutinize every expenditure.
