To provide the community with quality facilities and programs to enjoy in leisure time. Parks and Rec have a huge impact on quality of life and quality of place.
As costs continue to rise the budgeting process does get more challenging. It is imperative to do our best to keep facilities and programming affordable for the public. Finding new revenue sources will be a priority.
I have years of finance experience and budgeting in the private sector as well as years of experience on the Park Board working with the budget.
We have built a number of new facilities the last few years as well as updated playground equipment in both major parks. Continuing to provide safe space in the parks for the community is extremely important.
I believe all of our facilities are accessible and available to the community and users at this time.

1. City rec league enrollment 2. Ash Tree Diversification 3. Erosion surveys with Army Corps of Engineers.
1. Transparency, and community engagement. 2. We need to promote strong relationships with other local organizations.
I support conservative budgeting, careful oversight, and responsible use of public funds. But I also understand that smart investments in our parks and facilities can strengthen the community when they are planned responsibly and financially sustainable.
Some improvements are in motion, agility features at dog park, new park lighting, paving the roads etc. I think these are improvements that are good to discuss.
Maintain equipment, paths, lighting, and restrooms to keep facilities safe and usable year-round. Ensure affordability by keeping program admissions low-cost and offering inclusive programming for all residents.
Continuing to provide great recreation opportunities for the community of Valley City.
With rising costs, it is a difficult balance to keep fees for programs affordable while also doing right by both our full-time staff and part-time employees.
With 24 years of experience on the VC park board, I feel I have a good feel for where our tax dollars can get the best bang for the buck.
For a community the size of Valley City, I feel we offer a wide variety of facilities and programs that meet the needs of our citizens. With that being said, I am open to hearing ideas from community members to better meet the changing landscape of recreation.
The parks and facilities are community owned and operated by VCPR. We have a fee structure in place that helps support the operations of our facilities and parks. My goal is to keep things affordable for the community while also doing right by both our full-time staff and part-time employees.
