What are your top priorities?

What is the biggest challenge facing the city, and how would you address it?

How would you meet the housing needs of the city?

Do you expect that the new state law capping property tax budget increases at 3% will impact our city’s budget?

What values or experience would you bring to the budgeting process?

Aging infrastructure Permanent flood protection Affordable housing Attracting new business and supporting existing businesses.
Our infrastructure is old and decaying. We need to find a way we can repair or replace it and pay for it where everyone can be happy.
As a city we already have begun the process. We have joined with the development corporation to provide up to $40,000.00 towards new home construction. We need to continue this and also explore ways we could possibly help existing homeowners rehab their homes.
It could, however as a city we have been able to do a budget with the 3% cap in place.
I have served on the city commission for 10 years and have gone through 3 budgeting cycles. I have helped my portfolio heads in preparation of their budgets.
