I am a sixth-generation Texan, proud to call Llano home. I am a mother of four, with two children at Llano Elementary. I served as an officer in the United States Air Force, where I learned accountability and steady
leadership. Today I am a Fortune 500 executive leading thousands of employees. I show up to cheer-on Llano students at sports, UIL, plays, and every event in between, from elementary to high school.
I understand what families need from their schools. My roots are here. My children's future is here. I am fully invested.
Nearly two out of three Llano students come from families stretched thin. We solved meals through federal programs. Now our board needs to apply that same focus to counselors, nurses, tutoring, and child care, so teachers can teach and kids can soar. Second, we are struggling to hire qualified teachers, especially in specialized
roles. Competitive salary and benefits for more of our teachers has to be a priority. Third, a large portion of local tax dollars gets sent away to the state. I will work alongside our administrators and fight for change at the state level.
Teachers tell me they feel stretched thin, covering specialized roles that need dedicated staff, while ESL, gifted and talented, and special needs positions go unfilled. Parents tell me money and resources flow heavily toward some programs while others scrape for basics. But nobody is telling me our schools are broken. People love this community and believe Llano ISD can be something truly great. We have talented and committed teachers, but they and the community want leadership that listens to more than just the same few voices, acts, and puts kids first.
