My top priorities are Affordability and Accountability. Affordability: reward work, not corporate greed — lower costs, raise the minimum wage, protect Social Security and Medicare, make healthcare tax credits permanent, and stop the tariffs and price-gouging squeezing families. That means defending small businesses and farms with stable trade policy and real capital access, protecting rural hospitals from closure, and expanding affordable housing. Accountability: military-grade standards across Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Executive — ban insider stock trading, regulate corporate PAC money and reverse Citizens United, adopt term limits, set real penalties for violations, cut obsolete spending, and pass a Balanced Budget Amendment.
SC-7 doesn't have to choose between growth and stewardship. Unchecked coastal overdevelopment has outpaced our roads, schools, and hospitals, while our farmland and coastline get treated as expendable instead of the economic assets they are. John's plan: require infrastructure keep pace with new development, protect the natural resources our tourism and farm economies depend on, and fix what's already broken — deteriorating roads and hospitals at risk of closing — before approving more growth on top of it. Smart growth, not unbridled growth.
I'll fight to make hard work pay off: eliminate unjustified tariffs, stop corporate price-gouging, raise the minimum wage to $20 per hour, and expand preschool-age Child Tax Credits. On health: protect Social Security and Medicare, make ACA healthcare tax credits permanent so families don't face thousands more in premiums, prevent rural hospital closures, and work toward an all-American government healthcare system. I'll also expand affordable housing, restore Job Corps, and champion the PRO Act so workers share in the wealth they create. Your paycheck should at least cover the basics and a hard patch shouldn't wipe you out.
