It is well past time we treat climate change as the National Security Crisis it is. In Congress, I will invest in our infrastructure to be more resilient, protecting homes and businesses against storms by expanding flood mitigation efforts. I will expand investment in clean energy production – solar, wind, and geothermal – to create good-paying jobs, lower utility bills, and build a more resilient, sustainable future.
For the first time in modern American history, the economic prospects of young Americans are worse than that of their parents. In Congress, I will bring good-paying jobs to our community and prepare us for the future. There are numerous paths to success, and many, like trade skill careers, don't require a four-year degree. I will work to expand BOCES and CTE programs and create partnerships with unions and employers to increase the number of apprenticeship programs. Young people in the Hudson Valley deserve to build a good life here. They should not feel like they have to leave to find opportunity. I will lower costs and expand job opportunities so families can stay together in NY-17.
This is one of the top issues I hear about from voters on the trail. Working families are being priced out, and young people can’t afford to return to the communities they grew up in. In Congress, I will work to lower housing costs by making it easier to build affordable homes by getting rid of Trump’s illegal tariffs, cracking down on corporate landlords driving up prices, and reducing energy costs so families can afford not just to buy a home, but to stay in it. I will also introduce legislation to create a public service housing loan program for teachers, first responders, and nurses that models the VA loan program, so our public servants can afford to buy homes in the communities they are serving.
As someone who has been to combat, the last thing I ever want to see is more war. We have to reach negotiations for peace. While we cannot allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon, Trump’s war in Iran has been reckless, and I would vote in favor of a war powers resolution to bring an end to this conflict. This war is not making Americans any safer. In regard to Israel, I strongly support a two-state solution as the only viable long-term path to ensure Israel remains a secure, democratic Jewish state while Palestinians achieve legitimate aspirations for self-determination.
No. We must stop efforts by Donald Trump to take away citizenship from American citizens. The 14th Amendment clearly states that all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens. Our immigration system is broken. It should not take law-abiding neighbors 10-20 years to move through our process. We need to modernize and invest in our immigration system to make it efficient and humane, reducing backlogs, expanding legal pathways, and ensuring families are not kept waiting for decades to realize the American dream. And we must overhaul ICE to ensure it acts legally and in sync with American values.
As Chair of the Rockland County Environmental Committee and the Rockland County Task Force on Water Resources Management, I am already working tirelessly to combat the climate crisis. I passed the first countywide resolution opposing Project Maple, preserved hundreds of acres of open space, and funded and approved Rockland’s Climate Smart Communities Task Force. In Congress I will invest in clean energy, public transportation, and green job training to help us achieve net-zero emissions. I will provide funding for water treatment and sewage system upgrades to protect us from PFAS and toxic algal blooms. I will take on corporate polluters and hold them accountable for toxic dumping and water contamination.
Growing a vibrant economy for Rockland residents first requires undoing the damage Trump and Lawler have done, including repealing cost-raising tariffs and restoring the full SALT deduction. But we must go further by easing tax burdens on lower- and middle-class Rocklanders, which I have already done at the county level. I will improve and expand access to childcare and elder care, crack down on the utility companies hiking rates, fight corporate price-gouging, and cap out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs. These are commonsense actions that will make a tangible difference for Hudson Valley’s working families. We need a Congresswoman who not only recognizes the importance of affordability but has proven she can deliver.
As Vice Chair of the Rockland County Legislature’s first-ever Housing Committee, this is already a top priority. I helped launch an innovative housing loan program to create new opportunities rather than one-off deals for developers. I am spearheading projects that put affordable units next to struggling shopping centers, bringing both new housing and new life to our small business corridor. Across the country, private equity firms and corporate landlords are buying up housing stock, driving rents and starter home prices out of reach. Young families can’t buy their first home, and too many older Americans can’t afford to downsize or age in place with dignity. This moment calls for a member of Congress with a proven track record on housing.
As an elected official and Jewish community leader, I believe that supporting Israel must remain a bipartisan commitment of the United States. I also believe that we must do more to leverage our diplomatic powers to rein in the Netanyahu government and engage allies in the region to achieve lasting peace. I still believe we can reach a two-state solution. The war with Iran has only worsened the ability to fulfill the Peace plan, including increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza. The Iranian people deserve the freedom for which they have been protesting, but Trump’s illegal war is reckless and without clear strategy. The President has escalated the conflict and thrown us into military action without Congressional approval.
The 14th Amendment clearly states “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." The Citizenship Clause does not leave ambiguity for ending birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants in the United States.

We can begin by restoring the tax credits and subsidies for renewable energy and infrastructure that the Trump administration cut off. But we must do more. Economic vibrancy depends first on economic security, and both require a holistic approach. That means, among other things:

Affordable housing is at the top of my list of priorities for NY-17.
Here in our district, too many people are being priced out of their neighborhoods or cannot afford to return to the communities where they grew up. Congress must appropriate federal funding to help drive up housing supply, and demand states and the federal government enforce the Fair Housing Act to drive down the costs - both economic and social - of housing development.

My vision for a resolution to the current conflict in Iran involves our ending Trump's stupid, illegal, and unconstitutional war; using diplomacy to find our way back to the JCPOA's terms; and restoring our standing in the world so to use all the political and cultural power at our disposal to support the Iranian people against the Islamic Republic's tyrannical regime.
No. Trump's racist attempt to strip birthright citizenship is patently unconstitutional under the plain language of the 14th Amendment, controlling precedent going back to the late 1800s, and even older statutes and common law that inspired the drafting of the Citizenship Clause.
I am a lawyer, former legal reporter, and a nationally-recognized SCOTUS expert. My friends and colleagues are the constitutional lawyers who have had to waste thousands of words and months of their lives refuting the bad faith actors defending Trump's EO - which even the Trump-friendly Roberts Court is poised to declare unconstitutional this summer.
