Every child/student in the valley deserves a safe place to learn and grow while their caregiver works.
Every person in the valley deserves assess to quality healthcare. We need to keep local EMS, hospitals, and senior living facilities.
Every person in the valley deserves to have their basic needs met.
North Dakota farmers benefit North Dakota families. Farmers need support for the state at these difficult times.
We can continue to look at reducing drug prices and can utilize telemedicine when possible to help reduce costs. We need to find way to keep future healthcare increase down or more people will not be able to afford heath insurance. Every person deserves access to quality healthcare. This is a serious problem we all need to work together to solve. The cost is going up so fast that there are people in the state that have decided not to renew their health insurance. Another problem to solve.
I think there should be a limit as to how many single family homes a person or corporation can own. We might want to look at laws that tax at a higher rate when a person or corporation owns more that 2 single family homes in the state. We can not allow corporations to buy up the single family housing. If we get more single family homes on the market, the prices should drop so it would make it more affordable. Our young families deserve a change at buying a home.
I want public funds to stay in public schools. Private schools can discriminate on who gets to attend their schools. Being from a rural area, there are only public only public schools at attend. So school vouchers will take money away from our schools. Private schools are not held to the same academic standards as public schools. Vouchers would be a tax break for wealthy families already using private education and would be a financial drain on public schools.
I would like to see voting by mail to continue. With North Dakota being a rural state, it makes it easier for the people to vote. If there are changes to voting methods, the people need to be informed of these changes will in advance of the election. Voting should be assessable to all citizens. We need to protect the right to vote and understand the impact of passing proposed laws like the Save Act could actually take away voting rights from colored people, the elderly, rural, and women.
The role of the federal government is to solve issues that states can not handle efficiently alone, like national security, money, and manage foreign affairs. The states not the President handles elections which protects the right to vote. It is practical because states already have set up the procedures for holding all other elections. This practice makes it so it is not confusing for the voters. The Save Act does not protect the right to vote. It hurts colored people, elderly, and women.

I am concerned about corruption and ethics violations among our law makers. I want the ethics commission to be fully funded and the ballot initiatives respected.
We need to keep farms in the family, and families on our farms. I want public dollars to fund public schools and pay for student meals. We need fewer book bans and more book fairs.
We need to keep our local hospitals and senior living facilities open and serving our communities. To do that we need to attract a diverse work force.
Part of the reason people struggle with healthcare costs is because insurance is linked to employment, and employers are not required to provide it, or if they do, it does not have to be affordable. I would work for universal health care and remove the insurance companies from the mix altogether.
I don't know much about housing policy and would need to learn more before I form an opinion.
I am opposed to using public funds for private education. Public education is designed to help create a society with citizens who are presumed to have a certain level of functioning in certain key skill sets. North Dakota has good schools and great teachers and do a good job of preparing our students for the future.
I am concerned that voting rights are being silently taken away. Already the legislature changed the rules regarding when a ballot can be accepted; it used to be it had to be postmarked by election day, now it has to be at the courthouse by election day. We need mail in voting. My entire county has only one polling station and people need to drive for many miles to get there to cast their ballot.
We are the only state in the union that doesn't require voter registration.
States should not have the power to deprive individuals of medical services required for their care, like abortion. Roe v. Wade needs to be reinstated.
