I was raised to value philanthropy, honesty, and accountability. They are principles that guide me daily. Witnessing leadership that fails to represent Hoosiers inspired me to run for Congress. Indiana deserves reps who stand up for our community. I believe it’s every American’s duty to advocate for their friends, family, and neighbors. As an attorney and deputy prosecutor, I’ve spoken up when power was being abused & advocated for those in need. I fought for juveniles and other vulnerable clients, ensuring fairness while still holding people accountable for their actions. As a parent, I spent 8 years fighting to adopt my son. I have no fear of standing up for what is right. I’m committed to serving our district with integrity in Congress.
While the rising costs of utilities, gas, housing, food, and healthcare may not be unique to Indiana right now, I am running for Congress to address those national issues that harm us locally. We all feel the pinch of the rising cost of living. People should not need to struggle to live in the wealthiest nation on earth. The first and only job of a congressman is to serve their people. If elected, my first bill will address the economic needs of the people by canceling tariffs and reasserting Congress’s role in administering the people’s purse. Indiana needs federal investment, and as a congresswoman, I will make it my mission to secure funding so that our water is pure, our air clean, & our economy secure. People must come first.
Originally, the founders of this nation envisioned a ratio of 1 representative for every 30,000 citizens. Today, we have blown that out of the water with an average ratio of 1:760,000. Hoosiers must have their voices heard, and our system has been rigged to silence them. I support forming a nonpartisan redistricting committee that uses clear, publicly available data to draw electoral boundaries. NO citizen should be shut out of the electoral process or silenced. I support passing laws to end partisan gerrymandering, create independent oversight of the redistricting process, and mandate accessible, transparent voting procedures so every American can trust and participate in the election process without undue barriers.
Unlike Yakym, I am dedicated to holding regular town halls and addressing the concerns of the people face-to-face. I am a hands-on person, and in Congress, I will work for ALL people in the district. I will hire staff who understand that it's a privilege to serve Hoosiers and our country and that Congress's duty is to bring the voice of the people to the halls of power. My father taught me that behind every angry customer is a problem waiting to be solved and that no one is too high up to talk to a client. As the chairman and CEO of his company, my father made this clear by personally answering and addressing his clients' concerns. Every person needs to be heard. You can count on me to follow my dad’s lead. I will work for the people.
