Candidate- Why I am running because more women and moms need to be in places where decisions are made and this starts locally.
Candidate- What My main focuses are traffic/infrastructure, public schools and affordability.
Candidate- How I will push the Montgomery County Commission to be more transparent in planning decisions by proposing that sessions should be slowed down and issues discussed using plain vocabulary that ordinary members of the public can follow. I also plan to provide explanations of what is being proposed and where on social media and the commission website. I will advocate for more resources for the schools in my district for repairs and upgrades. I plan to work with local community organizations to encourage the building of different styles of housing that are affordable on the local average salary.
I plan to gather input from community members on what projects are important to them through listening sessions and social media posts. I want to work to make Commission meetings more accessible to the public by making sessions more transparent and easier for average people to understand. Once I have gathered information, I will advocate for those issues to be included as line items in the next annual budget by submitting proposals and attending budget meetings to ensure that they are included in the budget discussion. I will fight against projects that the community in general believes are wasteful or harmful and advocate for projects that benefit ordinary working families.
1. Push for the planned expansion of I24 to start sooner (currently planned to begin investigation in 2027) 2. Complete SR 374 (101st Pkwy) to loop West Montgomery County in with Riverside and provide an alternative route to the heavily congested New Providence Boulevard (aka "Boot Hill") 3. Expand bus routes countywide and have buses follow a predictable schedule during the times people need them to get to work instead of "when they come, they come".
