Qualifications
My career and civic service have centered on responsible governance, community leadership, and collaborative problem solving. Currently, I manage statewide initiatives, oversee annual program budgets, develop strategic plans and work closely with local and county leaders . I have served on boards where I addressed issues impacting housing stability, equity and access to services. That required government oversight, policy management, and collaboration with government and community partners.
I would strengthen partnerships between law enforcement, County leadership, and community based organizations. Nonprofits working in housing stability, homelessness prevention, domestic violence response, and mental health services play a critical role in reducing calls for service and repeat crisis situations.
I would support partnerships with schools and organizations that serve the youth. I have seen first hand the importance of early intervention, mentorship, and after school programming. Collaborations between the County, school districts, Parks & Recreation, and youth nonprofits can reduce juvenile involvement in the justice system while giving young people positive pathways and support.
I would rely on a combination of policy, data, and partnerships to ensure growth is thoughtful, sustainable, and benefits both current and future residents.
The updated 2025 Comprehensive Plan is in its final stages of public engagement and preparation, with adoption expected to finalize the new plan for a 10-year period. That should be our primary guide as the document should articulate where growth is appropriate, what infrastructure is needed and how land use aligns with economic development, housing and transportation. I also believe data and impact analysis are critical to responsible growth.
Traffic studies, school capacity data, and fiscal impact analyses would help us evaluate not just what can be built, but what should be built.
free and fair elections is fundamental to public trust and good governance. While County Council does not administer elections directly, it plays an important role in supporting the systems, safeguards, and transparency that allow elections to function properly and fairly. We must support adequate funding and resources for election administration. Policies and practices that promote transparency need to be supported. One thing I've learned while serving on school board is clear communication is vital. It truly helps reduce misinformation and reassures the community that the system is working as intended.
Safety is my top priority. For me, that means advocating for improvements to high risk corridors, safer intersections, better lighting. Equitable access needs to be taken into consideration. I will support transportation investments that serve working families, seniors, students and people with disabilities. Which means we also need to consider transit options, sidewalk connectivity so transportation planning works for everyone, not only people who drive.
I plan to focus on responsible growth, public safety, strong infrastructure, and good governance, by listening to residents and making data informed decisions.
I will support land use decisions and capital planning that encourage smart growth, protect established neighborhoods, and ensure growth pays for itself rather than placing additional strain on taxpayers.
Public safety means more than enforcement, it includes prevention, coordination, and trust. I will advocate for strong partnerships among law enforcement, public health, schools, and community organizations to address root causes of housing instability, mental health needs, and youth engagement, while ensuring first responders have the support and resources they need.
