What changes would you make, if any, to voting and elections policy?

What type of tax reform, if any, would best serve Ohio?

How would you address concerns about the rising cost of living?

What are your priorities for K-12 and higher education?

How would you reduce hyperpartisanship and promote civility?

I support automatic voter registration that is efficient and keeps voter rolls current. Automatic voter registration has been implemented in 24 states and has been proven to increase voter turnout.
This is one of the main focuses of my campaign. I promise to analyze the current tax structure and find solutions to help struggling families while fully funding our public education. Property taxes are too high, but that does NOT mean we should abolish them. In the legislature I will fight for middle-class tax credits. House Democrats introduced HB 804 that would provide some relief such as a $2,000 child tax credit. I will also work on reforming the CAUV formula so that family farms are not taxed out of existence. We can also expand the Homestead Exemption to give rural families some relief.
In addition to tax relief, we must freeze energy rate hikes for at least one year. We need to stop building data centers that are stressing our power grid and raising our electricity bills.
I think we need to end the school voucher program. We need to fully implement the Fair School Funding Plan. By using both property taxes and income, we ensure our rural districts get funded without placing the full burden on homeowners. A democracy only works with an educated electorate so funding public education is a priority. This is why the property tax analysis is so important because our taxes should be spent responsibly. The voucher system is irresponsible spending.
This is a tough question. I cannot control how others behave. I have worked as a member of a team for my entire career. I can only promise that I will approach my job in the legislature the same - as a team of legislators we should be working to make Ohio succeed.
