Office Sought Twin Falls County Assessor
Twin Falls County continues to experience rapid growth, which places pressure on housing affordability, infrastructure, and property values. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring property assessments remain fair and accurate in a changing market. My approach is to rely on verified sales data, maintain consistent valuation methods, and clearly communicate with property owners. I have also implemented technology and improved processes to keep pace with growth while controlling costs. Maintaining public trust through transparency and responsiveness is essential as our county continues to expand.
I bring a unique combination of private sector and public service experience. I spent decades in construction and land development, giving me firsthand knowledge of property values and market conditions. As Assessor since 2017, I have led a team responsible for valuing over 45,000 parcels. During that time, I have improved efficiency, reduced staffing levels, and strengthened internal operations while maintaining accuracy standards supported by state ratio studies. My experience managing people, budgets, and complex valuation systems allows me to effectively lead the office and serve the public.
I believe accessibility and communication are key to effective public service. I regularly meet with property owners, respond to questions, and ensure my office is available to assist the public. I also work closely with local professionals, including realtors, builders, and community groups, to explain the assessment process. My office provides clear information with assessment notices and maintains an open-door policy. Going forward, I will continue to prioritize transparency, timely communication, and respectful service to ensure every citizen feels heard and informed.
