County Clerk
Fremont County is navigating a critical fiscal period, primarily driven by the convergence of state-level funding reductions and broader economic constraints. The Idaho Legislature has implemented several budget cuts to address shortfalls caused by previous tax cuts. These reductions limit the state's ability to support local infrastructure, education, and services, directly affecting Idaho counties. Reduced state revenue transfers mean that local governments are forced to manage essential services with fewer resources. As Fremont County Clerk, I am firmly committed to maintaining a structurally balanced, non-debt-driven budget to ensure long-term fiscal sustainability.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Accounting. I have worked in the Fremont County Clerks Office for four years, obtaining practical, long-term experience with data management, accuracy, and office workflows. I worked through the budgeting process with a seasoned professional, gaining insight and understanding of County fiscal responsibility. As an elected official I have the obligation to manage public funds with transparency, accountability, and efficiency, balancing budgets while ensuring long-term financial sustainability. I believe in prudent debt management, careful oversight of revenues and expenditures, legal compliance, and strategic planning to provide public services.
I will be engaged with the community through regularly scheduled, open Commissioner meetings which are attended by County Commissioners, the Clerk, other Elected Officials and County Department heads. I will work to ensure the County website is user-friendly and easily accessible. I will respond to citizen concerns promptly, actively listening to viewpoints even when conflicting.
