If when I leave office, it can be said that I listened to and valued the people I came in contact with, that I wisely and efficiently used public funds, that I helped build connections, and that I assisted with steering our county forward in a positive direction, I feel that would truly be an accomplishment.
We truly live in a wonderful place, I look forward to assisting with long range planning that preserves our community's greatness while providing clear direction that encourages growth that benefits the community and minimizes negative impacts. It will take wisdom and the ability to proactively look ahead in order to properly plan for the infrastructure and other needs in order to ensure inevitable growth is an asset and not a burden.
Twin Falls County has almost 2,000 square miles that I have personally explored as a result of 10 years in the wildlife field followed by over 10 years managing the Twin Falls County Pest Abatement District. As the founding manager, I worked with a board of trustees to create a nationally recognized, biologically based, innovative program for mosquito and buffalo gnat control. Building a program from the ground up, and then managing that program for over a decade, gave me significant insight to county budgeting and working with other local entities, and allowed me to utilize my degree in Organizational Management. I now farm full time, which is an education itself, but has also given me the freedom to pursue my desire to serve my community.
Rapid growth in a community is both a blessing and a challenge. We can look to surrounding communities to see first hand what some of the good and bad of growth has brought to our
state. It will take good, long-term planning and dedication to implementing these plans in order to capitalize on the benefits and minimize the negative impacts of growth without creating an undue tax burden on our community.
I recognize that the one thing I don’t have is all the answers, but what I do have is a desire to learn to listen to and brainstorm ideas with people who have thoughts that challenge or broaden my own, and to ultimately serve my community to the best of my ability.
I am a 4th generation Idaho farm boy, It was a wonderful way to grow up. It was not easy, but it taught me the skills that allowed me to succeed in life, and tracking every penny just to survive means I am fiscally very conservative. Being a farm kid also means that innovation and creativity in solving problems is second nature. Our community needs farm kids. Whether they come from thousands of acres, or an apartment, farm kids have been an asset and the backbone of our community. I believe in servant leadership, and look forward to the opportunity to serve the amazing community that has given so much over the years to me and my family! I look forward to opportunities to learn from and share ideas with the amazing people in our community.

Scott Tverdy is running for County Commissioner to provide steady, practical leadership and ensure county government remains approachable, fiscally responsible, and focused serving the people of Twin Falls County by; Being accountable with taxpayer dollars,Protect personal liberty and opportunity, Support education, public saftey, strong communities, and make decisions through listening, planning and collaberation.

I will work closely with my fellow county commissioners to ensure full staffing of the new county jail scheduled for completion in 2027, and to add additional patrol deputies to the Sheriff’s Department as quickly as possible.
I will continue to promote collaborative efforts to construct a third crossing over the Snake River Canyon — an essential project for our growth and saftey.
I will advocate for responsible land use planning that protects our agricultural base and the water resources upon which it depends.
I will actively seek efficiencies within existing county services to improve working conditions, benefits, and the quality of public service for both employees and residents.
I will foster a culture of respect and dignity.
Farming as a sole proprietor and operating our family ranch in partnership has grounded me in the values of hard work, responsibility, and stewardship. I have also enjoyed more than 20 years as a loan officer with our local community bank in Buhl, serving neighbors and supporting local businesses.
My commitment to education includes ten years on the Castleford School Board of Trustees and eight years on the Buhl School Board. I am a member of the Castleford Quick Response Unit and the Castleford Community Men’s Club. I have been a 4‑H leader, an FFA supporter, and an active FFA Alumni member.
These experiences have taught me the importance of collaboration and strengthened my passion for serving others.
Directing urban growth in a way that preserves agricultural activity and protects water rights, while also respecting private property rights and individual liberty, is essential to the future of our county. We face the ongoing challenge of encouraging organized, responsible growth without losing the character and identity of our communities.
