I am running for my 3rd term. Prior to that, I was the Mayor of Stroudsburg Borough for 7 years. I am on 6 committees in Harrisburg. They are: Education, Tourism, Intergovernmental Affairs, State Government, Local Government, and Housing. I am the Chair of the sub committee for borough's.
There are several that are equally important from improving the minimum wage, to protecting women's reproductive rights, bringing healthcare costs down, protecting our environment, funding schools properly and giving my tax payers the relief they deserve, tax relief for working families, seniors, and veterans, infrastructure that works in eastern monroe and southern pike counties, balancing growth and quality of life issues, making higher education more affordable, attainable housing, getting senior housing that is affordable, better public transportation, just to name a few. I have supported and authored many bills for all of this.
We have secure elections in PA, and it has proven time and time again. You do need ID to be able to vote and I will not tolerate any voter intimidation, I support mail in ballots and gaining more access to be able to vote. The SAVE act will disinfranchise millions of voters and our elections are SAFE and SECURE... it is proven. Because one man says they are not, doesn't make it true. Funny thing is, when that particular man wins, our elections are secure, but when he or his side of the aisle loses... suddenly, they are not secure. It is a joke.
I am sick of the political games in prolonging budgets. The House Democrats turned over their budet on time in 2025, and the Senate should do the same. 2025 was unneccesarily late for political reasons only. WE should NEVER hold people hostage because of our own political gain, I for one will be the first to say this on both sides of the aisle. It seems politicians are more worried about being re-elected than representing their constituency and I will NOT play that game.
Yes and Yes. I still believe in local government autonomy and on the state level, doing everything I can to protect our environment from bad actors. There is a balance and a legality that needs to be followed. I believe in clean air, water, and protections of our land and the law, and when bad actors push their way in for a money grab, we need to stop it. We need to do things the right way and protect our natural resources, along with our quality of life.

Danica Hartenfels is a Monroe County mom, small business owner, and community leader with 25+ years in hospitality, dedicated to supporting families, local businesses, and a strong community.
The most pressing issues facing residents of the 189th District are affordability, infrastructure, and public safety. Families are feeling the strain of higher everyday costs, while many communities are also dealing with traffic, road concerns, and the need for reliable emergency services.
I believe these challenges should be addressed with practical, commonsense solutions, not partisan politics. That means supporting responsible economic growth, investing in roads and public safety, cutting unnecessary red tape, and making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
My focus would be on listening, working with both sides, and delivering results that improve daily life for the people of this district.
I support an election system that is accessible, secure, and trusted by the public. That means making it easier for eligible voters to cast a ballot through clear voter information, reliable polling locations, and strong support for seniors, military members, and people with disabilities. At the same time, we should continue to strengthen chain-of-custody procedures, improve training for election workers, maintain accurate voter rolls, and ensure consistent oversight and transparency in ballot handling and counting. The goal should be simple: protect the integrity of our elections while making sure every eligible voter can participate with confidence. I also believe that proper ID must be shown at elections. This will help ensure confidence
Pennsylvania’s budget process should be more transparent, more disciplined, and completed on time. The June 30 deadline exists for a reason, and families, schools, counties, and local governments should not be left waiting while Harrisburg negotiates behind closed doors.
I would support earlier bipartisan budget talks, firmer public deadlines, and a more open process so major spending decisions are reviewed well before the final days. We need responsible budgeting that protects taxpayers, funds core priorities, and brings more predictability to communities that depend on state support.
Yes, I would support statewide standards for all data centers, especially where water use, electric demand, noise studies, emergency planning, and major land impacts are involved. Proper studies must occur.
I believe the state should issue a curative amendment to properly set a true standard to aid our local municipalities. Pennsylvania’s MPC already gives municipalities authority to adopt zoning and land development ordinances, and even current proposals on data centers focus on model local ordinances and community-impact mitigation, never wiping out local control.
I would oppose a one-size-fits-all law that preempts municipalities from addressing local traffic, setbacks, noise, buffering, and compatibility with surrounding land uses.
