What do you see as the most pressing issues facing residents of your district, and how would you address them?
What changes, if any, would you support to enable better access, ensure security, and support the processes of our elections?
What are your thoughts on the state budget process? What changes, if any, would you support so that the budget is enacted in a timely manner?
Should the state legislature enact laws concerning the impacts on water, energy, or land use from the development and operation of data centers? Would state regulation of data center development and operation interfere with the authority of municipalities to establish ordinances under the MPC (Municipal Planning Code)?
The economy in Pennsylvania and the country is the most pressing issue that needs to be dealt with. We need to consider suspending the gas tax temporarily to reduce gas prices and find a way to reduce prices across the board.
We also need to deal with the development of data centers in our local area and work to ensure they do not have a negative impact on our way of life here in Northampton County.
I believe our election system is already secure and does not need changes moving forward. If we are going to implement some form of voter ID, then we need to make sure every eligible voter has easy and free access to getting the proper identification.
I believe both parties need to work in a bipartisan fashion to produce a budget on time here in Pennsylvania. I do not see that we need any fundamental changes in how the budget process works.
I do believe the state should enact laws to deal with the impacts on water, energy, and land use from the development of data centers. I also believe that we need to give local government the tools and authority that they need to deal with these issues based on local impacts. State regulations need to be developed keeping local decision making in mind.
