In PA-14, the most pressing issues are economic security, healthcare access, and restoring trust in government. Families are facing rising costs, limited job opportunities, and gaps in rural healthcare. I would focus on growing good-paying jobs through infrastructure, energy innovation, and support for small businesses; lowering costs by addressing prescription drug prices and healthcare access; and strengthening workforce training. Nationally, we must also protect Social Security and Medicare, defend democratic institutions, and ensure government works efficiently, with accountability and results for the people.
Congress must provide independent, rigorous oversight to ensure the executive follows the law and serves the public interest. That means holding hearings, issuing subpoenas when necessary, reviewing spending, and demanding transparency from agencies. Congress must also protect inspectors general and whistleblowers, enforce ethics standards, and ensure no one is above the law. Oversight isn’t partisan—it’s a constitutional duty that protects accountability, prevents abuse of power, and maintains trust in government.
Congress needs to reassert its constitutional authority over war and foreign policy, not rubber-stamp executive action. That starts with debating and voting on the use of military force. We should strengthen alliances, invest in diplomacy, and make sure foreign aid serves both American interests and humanitarian goals with accountability. I also believe economic and technological competitiveness is a national security issue. Our foreign policy should be steady and values-driven, not reactive, and it should always prioritize the safety of Americans and our troops.
Congress should act to extend marketplace premium tax credits through the Health Care Affordability Act to prevent sharp cost increases for families across our district. We must also protect Medicaid coverage and provide targeted support for rural hospitals to ensure continued access to care. Passing the CONNECT for Health Act would permanently expand telehealth, including audio-only access for rural patients. In addition, advancing the Chronic Disease Flexible Coverage Act would lower out-of-pocket costs for preventive and chronic care, improving outcomes and reducing long-term costs.
