Gun Violence - I support restoring the assault weapons ban. As a State Senator, I have been a champion on funding Gun Violence prevention programs which have contributed to recent decreases in homicides.

Healthcare Access - Healthcare is a human right and all Americans should have access to affordable healthcare. I was the prime sponsor of PENNIE, Pennsylvania's Obamacare, which improved healthcare access and made it more affordable for all Pennsylvanians.

Jobs - Philadelphia needs more good jobs that lift our people out of poverty. As a Senator I have fought to bring good jobs to our region and protect the ones we have. I have funded job training programs such trade schools like PTTI. I will do the same in Congress.
The current president has repeatedly acted lawlessly and wrongly. From his Muslim ban in his first term to deploying the national guard in our cities to his attacks on Venezuela and Iran and excessive force by ICE agents in our communities, he has given illegal orders to his underlings. The courts have found that many of these actions were unconstitutional or exceeded his authority, but that takes time and many lives have been impacted irreparably. Congress needs to do its job and act as a coequal branch of government. If I am elected, I will hold him accountable and protect our rights through every means at my disposal. I will leverage the power of the purse, the power to investigate and will not hesitate take him to court.
The out of control imperialist activity of the Trump administration must be reigned in by Congress. The power to declare war is reserved for Congress for a reason. If I am elected to Congress, I will prioritize replacing the existing war powers act with legislation that restores the balance of power and asserts the power of the legislative branch.
Healthcare is a human right and all Americans should have access to affordable healthcare. The increased cost of healthcare is a significant driver of our affordability crisis as well as disparate health outcomes across race and income.

That is why my team authored Pennie, Pennsylvania's Obamacare which lowered the cost of health insurance for all Pennsylvanians.

I support Universal Healthcare. As we plan for the future of healthcare, I will work to protect the jobs in Philadelphia that support the administration of healthcare programs.

Survival should not be a privilege and we must seek to win solutions at the scale of the crises we are facing. With bold fighters in office, we can win a future where Philadelphia families have guaranteed access to safe housing, stable income, clean air, and water. We need to strengthen workers’ rights by raising the minimum wage and passing Medicare for All. We must end endless wars and redirect our tax dollars into our neighborhoods to fund public services. That also means taking money out of politics to build a government that answers to voters, not billionaires and corporate lobbyists. Passing meaningful environmental protections is critical to protecting our neighborhoods and moving towards a fossil-fuel free economy is critical.
Congress must pursue constitutional reforms that take away the near-total control of weapons of mass destruction from the executive branch. The executive branch, within my lifetime, has waged conflict across the globe with consistently eroding checks and balances. The lack of accountability between Congress and the executive branch in recent years is part of the crisis of a crumbling democracy. In Congress, I hope to work within a body that will hold presidents accountable for their criminal acts, remove war powers from the executive, and crush the corporate duopoly that controls the Legislature so our democracy can be protected and restored.
Congresspeople must be consistent, values-driven voices on foreign policy who take Congress’s constitutional role seriously, particularly when it comes to oversight of executive action, military assistance, and the use of force. My priorities will include defending democracy and human rights globally, ending the siege in Palestine, supporting Ukraine’s right to sovereignty, and reducing the risk of war through arms control and nuclear disarmament. The United States is strongest when it leads through diplomacy, multilateral cooperation, and respect for international law - rather than militarism or unilateralism. I will work to ensure U.S. foreign policy reflects these principles and contributes to a more just, secure, and peaceful world.
Healthcare is a human right. No one should lose their home, savings, or life because they cannot afford care. We must pass Medicare for All as a single-payer system to guarantee universal healthcare for everyone (regardless of income, immigration status, gender identity, or employment). Medical debt must be eliminated. While we work towards ultimately replacing the Affordable Care Act we can strengthen it by expanding benefits to include mental health, addiction treatment, social work, peer support, and wraparound care, while massively investing in community health centers and public health infrastructure. We must raise pay and protections for care workers and protect access to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.

1.) Lack of Affordable Housing. Using the Model of Hawaii 1967 Leasehold Conversion Act as a model, I would legislate funding for Phila and PA to purchase residential space from Private Equity to resell the residences to normal hardworking Americans and reintroduce the first-time homebuyer's credit. 2.) Access to Healthcare. I would both cosponsor Medicare for All (M4A), and I would force the vote on M4A by withholding my vote for Speaker of the House until M4A is guaranteed a floor vote. 3.) Protection Civil Liberties. I would stop funding for ICE and Homeland Security and prosecute the offenders of Americans' Civil Liberties. 4.) Fight for $15. I would withhold my vote for House Speaker until there is a vote to double the minimum wage.
Legislators need to do the following: 1.) Prosecute the worst actors of civil liberties with the assistance of states' attorneys general. 2.) Defund ICE and dismantle the Department of Homeland Security. 3.) Reduce the Executive Branch's ability to deploy armed forces. 4.) Reduce the Department of Defense's budget and require the DoD to successfully complete an audit 5.) Identify legislatively the Executive's Duties so that the President can be held criminally liable for acts that are outside executive privilege. 6.) Impeach and remove partisan officers of the FCC who are actively curtailing protected speech. Please see my full statement on protecting "Civil Liberties" at https://griffithforcongress.org/priorities where I lay out tactics.
Congress needs to conduct hearings of all people who have the President's ears to shed light to the public on what their motivations are. Congress should disallow all lobbyists of foreign powers from lobbying, raising funds for candidates and all others. Every vote for foreign aid and, more important, defense spending on foreign kinetic action should be conduct publicly so every American knows which Members of Congress support what foreign actions.
America needs single payer healthcare, or as a viable second, a public option. I would support Medicare for All and would withhold my vote for Speaker of the House until a vote on Medicare for All is guaranteed.
