The STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE consists of a male and a female (elected separately) from each of the Senate Districts. Each Senate District is composed of three house districts. In the case of the Senate 18 District, it is comprised of two Lake County house districts and one house district from eastern Cuyahoga County. The Party Chairs from the 12 most populous counties are also members. In conjunction with the Executive Committee, the members consider candidate endorsements and vote on important federal and state policy issues. Your state central committee representatives bring the “grassroots” perspective of your community to bear on the decisions that the OHIO Democratic party implements throughout the year.
The top priority would be to represent and promote the unique perspectives of our Senate District and to be a voice for the issues we wish to see reflected in our State Party platforms and our candidates.
I can’t remember an election when I didn’t actively participate and encourage voter participation. I routinely knock on doors, send newsletters, and work on election day as a rover. I have been an advocate of voting all the way down the ballot particularly on oft forgotten judicial races.
