Training and Experience Incumbent State Central Committeewoman 2017-present
Volunteer/Community Service Incumbent member of ODP State Central Committee and Executive Committee, Vice Chair of Volunteers and Membership for Hamilton County Democratic Party, Democratic Ward Chair Anderson, Former President Eastside Democratic Club, Precinct Executive
The Central Committee is a Political Body- not a governmental body. The CC meets one time, to participate in post primary party reorganization, which includes selecting party officers. Its members then become members of the Party Executive Committee, along with appointed members and those that obtain membership through the position they hold. The Exec Committee is the party governing body. Its most important function is to create a structure where Democrats can be successful. The Exec Committee meets 4 times per year- 16 times in a given term. Typically, only two of those meetings are to consider candidate endorsements. While endorsements are an important function, that’s not everything. Sustaining a Strong State Party on an ongoing basis is what we must do to achieve success.
This position isn’t about electing someone to put priorities/ ideas forward per se. The structure isn’t in place for that to happen. The Party Chair sets the agenda. Candidates and campaigns set their policy priorities. The role of a member is to actively and enthusiastically support the party and its candidates and campaigns. My priority is to do exactly that; as I have done for the entirety of my 9 year tenure on the ODP CC/Exec Committee- and for many years before I served. I pledge to attend every Committee meeting to stay informed and to attend Democratic events so that I can stay in touch with Democratic voters.

The first step in promoting voter participation is to ensure that eligible voters are registered to vote and have updated their registration if necessary. I currently am working with my county party to plan Voter Registration events. I personally register my family, friends and neighbors as they become eligible or have a change in status. In the weeks leading up to an election, I frequently share information and applications for early/ absentee voting. I post daily reminders about voting and elections during Early Vote and on Election Day. I share the Early Vote Hours Schedule. For this Primary Election, I am educating voters on the reasons why participation in a Primary Election is important.
Training and Experience My career is marked by diverse roles, all focused on solving problems and closing gaps. I began with operational and financial audits, identifying ways to cut costs and boost efficiency. Later, I helped government and nonprofit groups improve processes by writing standardized policies and procedures making it easier to onboard new staff and repeat successful outcomes. When a process is written it is efficiently repeatable. I also wrote grants and designed grant guides.
Volunteer/Community Service For over 30 years, I’ve led nonpartisan GOTV efforts across churches, civic groups, and regional coalitions. I organized voter‑registration drives, community voter‑education events, absentee‑ballot outreach, and transportation to the polls.
The State Central Committee’s most important work begins with electing State Party leadership, who set the tone, priorities, and operational direction for the entire party. Strong leadership shapes organizing strategy, fundraising, and communication. The Committee also establishes policies, rules, and by‑laws, creating consistency across the state. It guides candidate recruitment, which determines the party’s future, and sets funding priorities that influence which regions receive support and how effectively the party responds to needs. By steering the party’s overall direction, the Committee ensures a unified vision for organizing and growth. It also serves as a link between grassroots communities, County Chairs, & state leadership to ensure statewide decisions reflect the community.
My top priorities if elected are to increase two‑way communication and the sharing of best practices across the Party, expand voter‑education efforts that help people understand how elected officials impact their daily lives, and strengthen funding and support for local‑level organizing.
I am already increasing voter participation by expanding voter‑education efforts, because people vote more when they understand how elected officials affect their daily lives. I also advocate for intentional outreach to infrequent voters and take time to listen to why they don’t vote, so their concerns can be connected to issues and solutions the Party is working on. I regularly invite people to Democratic club meetings, executive meetings, meet‑the‑candidate events, and to volunteer—because participation grows when people feel welcomed and included. I also share the LWV voter guide as a way they can learn more about the candidates. These approaches have strengthened engagement in my community, and I am promoting them to be shared as best practices across the Party.
