Candidate Bio Information I have been a resident of Porter County for over 25 years. My husband and I have been married for 45 years and we raised three children. I am a grandmother of seven. I’m a clinical psychologist as well as a past medical Director. I have worked in mental health for over 40 years. I also worked in medical research for 10 years. I have worked in medical clinics in rural Indiana for 10 years. I played competitive soccer on a women’s league until I was 47 years old. Other interests include Purdue and Indiana university college sports, our environment, art and reading.
1. Protecting taxpayer dollars through responsible budgeting, and demand transparency in county spending 2. Ensure public safety and essential services are properly funded, 3. Support smart growth that strengthens and does NOT strain our neighborhoods or our environment!
As a clinical psychologist and medical Director, I’ve spent my life’s work, listening, guiding and making difficult decisions that impact people. As a medical liaison I had to manage multi-million dollar budgets, monitor multidisciplinary teams, and meet deadlines with quantitative, achievable successful outcomes. I have spent over 40 years as a clinical psychologist and 10 years as a medical liaison. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams that at times have opposing goals, and I have successfully bridged these differences to find common ground to meet specific objectives together. I believe my ability to listen, analyze needs, and empathize with others that have conflicting opinions and needs to find common ground and mutual agreement.
Strategies would include prioritizing, maintaining transparency, and smarter government. Identify what services must remain high-quality no matter what which includes public safety, emergency response, and health. This includes collaborating regionally. Shift our thinking from budget cuts to priority based budgeting, which includes ranking services; one most critical; two most important like permits and administrative services and three; what can we defer. Standardize performance across departments using specific metrics such as time to resolution, volume handle per staff or citizen satisfaction. Cross trained employees for multiple functions and shared administrative support roles. Bring grant money and volunteer programs to the county!

As a clinical psychologist and medical Director, my life‘s work has been listening, guiding and making thoughtful decisions that truly impact people. That same care and responsibility is what I’ll bring to the county council budgets aren’t numbers to me. They represent family seniors children, and the future we’re building together. I’m running because county government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and accountable to the people not political insiders. The county council controls the budget that means your tax dollars and my tax dollars it means funding public safety. It means maintaining our roads. It means planning responsibly for growth every dollar matters because it’s your dollars!
I believe our American dream is under attack from within. I love my faith, my family and my country. I believe diversity is our greatest strength. I also believe we are stronger together. There is so much more that brings us together than what pulls us apart! I believe in embracing our differences together, celebrating our authenticity and being kind. My strength is my compassion not my weakness. My empathy allows me to build bridges amongst hate and despair. I will support working families, not political insiders with hidden agendas that do not put Porter county residents first! I will be accountable to all residents of Porter county regardless of party. I WILL BRING INDEPENDENT LEADERSHIP YOU CAN TRUST!
