First and foremost, every local unit of government will have to tackle the effects of SEA1. Everyone will either need to make massive cuts to services or find new revenue sources, mainly through Local Income Taxes. I am committed to MAINTAINING current service levels.

Second, I will be a fierce advocate for Portage. Many of the residents and elected officials I talk to believe that too often Portage is an afterthought. We are the largest city in Porter County and the third largest in NWI. We should be demanding MORE.

Lastly, I would like to see the county reduce or eliminate its dependency on the Hospital Foundation. The proceeds from this fund should be used to enhance the county by being delivered to local charities and foundations.
If elected, this will be my second time in office. I previously served as a Portage City Councilman from 2020-2023. During that time gained invaluable experience and developed good relationships with many other public servants. With challenges facing local governments in the next few years, my experience will be invaluable to residents.
The budget restrictions that are coming to local government are catastrophic if the other revenue streams are not found or created. Anyone who claims that they can absorb these reductions with standard techniques of cost cutting, etc. Doesn't understand the magnitude of SEA1.
When I was previously in office, my phone and email were always available, but I always worked to meet residents where they were. I love to be engaged in community and show up too many events in the city and love to engage with our many clubs and civic organizations.
