The clerk is an officer of the court, chief financial officer for revenue collected by the courts, and chief election official for the county. I have served in this role since 2023. During my tenure, I have modernized services to increase transparency and reduce wait times, successfully administered every election since I took office, increased outreach to vulnerable voters, expanded the hours for early voting, and fought back against those who want to disenfranchise voters and limit voting. I'm the right choice to continue to lead the office. I'm willing to work across the aisle and with those who have differing opinions, but when it comes to disenfranchising voters, I'll fight all day and night to right the wrong.
The constant barrage of attacks on voting from the State House. I not only testify in committee hearings, I also work within the halls and one-on-one with legislators to educate them about the issues, and offer perspective to them when they are deciding how to vote on election-related legislation. This past session when the leader of the Senate Elections Committee snuck in a provision at the 11th hour that would have severely limited early voting, my team found a Republican legislator to carry my amendment that would restore the early vote days. It worked. I'm not just against things! I supported the Poll Worker Protection bill signed into law in 2024. The legislation made it a felony to obstruct or interfere with election workers or voters
Continuing to protect voting rights and fighting those who wish to take those rights from us.
I've been battling efforts at the State House that would limit voting. I don't think those efforts will wane, nor will my resolve to bring light to the attempts of the supermajority to silence the voices of those they fear. This job needs someone who is willing to use every tool available to help protect our democracy.
Voting is a celebration of democracy! It's one of the rare times we're all equal. Just because someone has a big bank account or a fancy title, they still get the same, singular vote of any other voter. We have celebrated the Voting Rights Act the past couple of years to remind people how far we've come and how an engaged citizenry is vital to a healthy government. We work side-by-side with the LWV to talk to high school students and help them experience voting. We take actual voting equipment into the schools and let the students vote on test ballots. We participate in Naturalization ceremonies and explain voting rights to new citizens, then register them to vote.

The Clerk’s office maintains court records, oversees county-wide elections, & supports voter registration efforts.
For 5 years, I’ve served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney & Director of Community Outreach with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO). Here, I’ve seen how confusing & inaccessible our court systems can be, & I want to change that.
Watching voter turnout continue to plummet, I became a grassroots organizer. For the last 15 years, I've worked to expand access to government services & improve voter engagement.
I’ve served as President of the Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus + Voter Education Chair, hosted civic segments on Telemundo Indy, & worked in voter outreach roles with TurboVote & the Indiana Democratic Party.
Marion County is under the threat of federal overreach that undermines these systems & our democratic rights. I will fight this, using every tool available.
Fighting threats isn’t new to me. During the first Trump administration, I worked in immigration & gained experience challenging government decisions in federal court. I'm not intimidated by fighting back.
Just this week, I helped a friend prejudiced by House Enrolled Act 1264, a law which attacks the voter registrations of naturalized U.S. citizens.
As an attorney & naturalized U.S. citizen myself, I know what’s at stake, & know that meaningful change starts with local, civic participation.
Using my training as a prosecutor, I'll continue protecting our constitutional rights.
I'm excited about Government work. As the Director of Community Outreach with MCPO, I’ve seen what immediate progress looks like, & how taking services to the community yields positive results. I want to replicate that .
By taking these services directly to the people, I’m going to enhance public access to government services, break barriers down & demystify these processes.
If elected, I pledge to attend, support or coordinate 200 community-focused events because I know it can be done. Through this, I know we can reverse our historic low voter turnout & drive engagement up.
Every resource fair, every community event, every town hall, every school, every community celebration, anywhere I can help people, I’ll be there.
One of the most serious challenges I expect to face in this role is the continuation of this aggressive & unprecedented overreach by the federal government, but I know there are legal tools to fight back.
Through reactive laws & unchecked power, I believe the federal government will continue to use these systems as weapons, & bully local agencies into handing over more sensitive voter data. Looking at other County Clerks in the midwest using local resources to protect unredacted, sensitive voter data, we have a real opportunity to explore practical & legal tools to push back in a meaningful way.
I’m ready to fight back, not be a passive bystander. When elected, I will fight to protect free, fair, & secure elections for our community.
Helping people is a continuation of my upbringing, & I see this office as a vehicle for positive change.
I grew up in a working-class household. From an early age, I’ve been helping my family and community navigate complex administrative systems, including demanding fair opportunities to participate in the democratic process. My vision is to make these agencies more accessible, predictable & representative of our growing communities.
By taking these services to the people, I can immediately implement ideas to get people excited about participating in democracy, recruit more poll workers, register more voters, & empower voters to protect our constitutional rights, driving an unprecedented wave of civic engagement that meets this moment.
As the county's chief election officer, the clerk's role is ministerial and requires an understabding of our constitutions. I have a couple law degrees, 30 years of experience, and have held appointed positions in 4 states.
