Precinct Chair, Board Member of Head Start of Greater Dallas, Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club, Soroptimist Club, Leadership Grand Prairie
I am qualified to run for City Council because my work, service, and life are rooted in Grand Prairie. As a small business owner, childcare provider, and real estate professional, I understand the needs of families and entrepreneurs. Serving as precinct chair has allowed me to stay connected to residents and their concerns. My experience in business, housing, and community leadership gives me practical insight to support responsible growth, strong neighborhoods, and opportunities for the people who live here.
Budget challenges require responsible planning and clear priorities. I believe the city should focus first on essential services residents rely on every day, while carefully evaluating spending and improving efficiency where possible. We should also support smart economic development that strengthens our tax base without overburdening residents. By being transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on long-term sustainability, we can maintain strong services while managing the city's budget wisely.
Cities should maintain a cooperative, clearly defined relationship with federal agencies. Local government's primary responsibility is the safety and well-being of residents, so collaboration should focus on areas such as emergency preparedness, disaster response, infrastructure protection, and public safety coordination. At the same time, cities must ensure that any partnership respects local authority, community trust, and the rights of residents. The goal should be practical cooperation that strengthens safety while keeping decision-making grounded in the needs & values of the community.
I would support clear nondiscrimination policies that ensure every resident is treated fairly in housing, employment, city services, and public spaces. That includes strong reporting processes, accountability for violations, and regular training for city staff to ensure policies are applied consistently. I also believe the city should actively engage with diverse communities so residents feel heard, respected and confident that their concerns will be addressed.
I support expanding Grand Prairie's low-cost VIA rideshare program because it helps residents access jobs, school, and services. As it grows, we should also strengthen safety protocols, so pickups and drop-offs happen in safe, designated areas instead of mid-street. Improving reliability, safety, and coverage will help more residents benefit from affordable transportation while keeping riders and drivers safe.
Grand Prairie's biggest challenge will be balancing growth with affordability and infrastructure. As our city continues to attract new development, we must make sure longtime residents can afford to live here and that our roads, services, and housing keep up with the growth. At the same time, this growth is our greatest opportunity. If managed well, we can support small businesses, create attainable housing, strengthen neighborhoods, and ensure the benefits of development are felt by the residents who call Grand Prairie home.
