As an educator, I have spent my career working with students, parents, and families in our community. That experience has taught me the importance of listening, building trust, and working together to solve problems. I understand the challenges families face because I see them every day in my work. I believe that background, along with my commitment to this community, prepares me to serve DeSoto with thoughtful leadership and a strong focus on opportunity for our residents and youth.
In education, we often have to make careful decisions about resources while still meeting the needs of students and families. I believe our city should take that same thoughtful approach. We must be responsible with taxpayer dollars, prioritize essential services, and make smart investments that strengthen our neighborhoods and support long-term growth for DeSoto.
Cities work best when they build strong partnerships with other levels of government. Working with state and federal agencies can help DeSoto access resources, improve emergency preparedness, and protect the safety of our residents. At the same time, it is important that those partnerships respect our community and the rights of the people who live here.
Every resident of DeSoto deserves to feel respected and treated fairly. I support policies that promote equal opportunity and ensure that city services are delivered with dignity and accountability. Our community is strongest when every person knows they are valued and protected.
Transportation is important because it connects residents to jobs, education, and essential services. As DeSoto continues to grow, the city should continue exploring practical transportation options and partnerships that improve mobility while being responsible with public resources.
DeSoto has a strong community and a great deal of potential. One of our biggest opportunities is continuing to grow while protecting the quality of life that families value. That means strengthening our neighborhoods, creating opportunities for young people, and encouraging economic development that benefits our residents and local businesses. With thoughtful leadership and community collaboration, DeSoto’s future can be very bright.
