My motivation is to make Parker a better place to live. I am member of community organizations like Collin County Master Gardener. I’ve worked with the residents both on a HOA and through Parks and Recreation. I’ve also negotiated with some of the land developers in Parker to make their community better fit the needs of Parker.
The biggest change will be developing the remaining land. We need to find a way to have reasonable development especially within the ETJ. We will also hit build out and need to find a way to finance the city without high property taxes.
During my time on City Council, I supported and voted to solve the biggest two transportation problems in the City: Dublin Road and Lewis Lane. At this time, we need to take care of repairs going forward.
City facilities and drainage are the most urgent infrastructure projects. The Police need to be moved out of the trailer home into a permanent facility. Public Works current building periodically floods. City Hall is too small. The Fire Station has inadequate sleeping quarters for our current staffing levels. We need to find a way to move forward on these projects at a reasonable cost. Some neighborhoods have significant drainage problem. We need to get landowners to do better drainage maintenance while improving infrastructure to solve the worst of the issues.

We need to be fiscally responsible while providing needed city services. Going forward there needs to be tighter budgetary controls put into place to ensure that funds are spent as intended.
We need to maintain our large lot residential environment. However, we need to consider if it makes sense to have some very limited light commercial in very specific areas to offload the tax burden from the citizens. The most important part is to work together with our ETJ landowners to make sure that our land is developed in such a way that keeps Parker Parker.
In the short term, we need to work with the county to have them fund repairs to county roads that are poor shape like McWhirter. Also, we need to pursue more grant opportunities as a way to get outside funding to solve city needs.
An important issue is that our subdivision regulations for new neighborhoods are insufficient and need improvement. On one recent plat, the plat met our safety rules in place but it was clear that there was a safety issue. Fortunately, myself and another council member caught this issue and came up with a mutually acceptable solution with the developer.
