Voters of each township elect three members to the township board for 4-year terms. The township board has the same responsibilities within the township as those exercised by the county council. Those duties include adopting the annual township budget, fixing the tax rate for various funds, fixing the salaries of elected and appointed officers and employees of the township, excluding constables, township assessors and employees of county assessors. The board must keep a record of its proceedings.

I have been involved with Township Government for many years. I was a Firefighter and the Fire Chief of St Joseph Township and knew that Township Government is the level closest to the residents. From helping people who are struggling financially to maintaining an abandoned cemetery we are here to help. I have served with the Cedar Creek Township Board and would like to continue in this role.
SB1 has decreased our available funds however with being good stewards, we are still able to assist our citizens as needed.
