My wife and I have resided in The Woodlands since 2014. We raised five children while living in Texas, New Jersey, Virginia and London, England. I retired from ExxonMobil in 2021 and have elected to remain in The Woodlands. We are active members of Mims Baptist Church. I have served as an Election Judge and Election Clerk. I enjoy running and have completed over 25 half marathons.
I have a Chemical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech. I am a Professional Engineer (Texas, inactive). I retired as a technical executive after spending over 40 years in the refining / chemicals industry. As a MUD 7 Director since 2022, I have used my industrial experience to push to limit spending to only areas that have been studied and are justified, keeping water rates as low as possible.
Adequate oversight by elected Directors is required to ensure future needs are met with cost effective and timely solutions. The Woodlands has a growing inventory of aging infrastructure which needs to be addressed using industry best-practices. We must also provide sufficient capability to meet our future water and wastewater demands while seeking ways to minimize subsidence.
We must ensure robust discussions of major spending decisions making sure all expenditures are justified to the public. We should expand the use of condition-based assessments to guide repair vs replacement decisions related to aging infrastructure. The Woodlands needs to engage other Montgomery County stakeholders to resolve water supply issues and minimize subsidence.
Since becoming a Director in 2022, recordings of our monthly MUD meetings are available. The meeting minutes are also enhanced to reflect all decision making. We will continue these steps to be transparent and communicate with the community. We have updated the web site to facilitate contacting any Director. I encourage residents to attend Director meetings or review the online materials.

I have had a great deal of experience over the years with several entities that are involved in securing dependable and long-term sources of water and the distribution systems needed to produce and deliver that water to its users. I've also been involved in all aspects of the treatment of wastewater. I am an advocate for clean water and clean rivers and streams have been for a long time.
I currently serve on the MUD 7's Board of Directors and have been involved in the drinking water and wastewater treatment field for over 30 years. I have a B.S. degree in Biology, with a minor in chemistry.
Number 1 challenge for MUDs in Montgomery Co. is making certain that we have long-term resources of water for residential and commercial users.
Number 2 challenge is to make certain the delivery systems for that water (wells, pumps, and pipes) are maintained/replaced in a timely manner, making certain that we will always be able to deliver clean, high-quality water to our customers.
I will promote even more conservation measures. MUD 7 and the Woodlands Water Agency have championed those efforts, and we need to continue to do so. As a MUD Director, I have supported keeping rates as low as possible, while understanding that replacement, maintenance, and treatment costs will need to be addressed as our water and wastewater systems age. I will continue to do so if elected.
All Woodlands MUD's monthly meetings are open to the public and recorded for public viewing. MUD 7 also publishes updates, reviewing major decisions and initiatives, etc. I would also engage MUD 7 residents in settings such as Village Association meetings. It is particularly important to keep residents informed about issues such as rate changes large maintenance projects, well in advance.
