Indiana’s 2025 budget cut ~5% across most state agencies, resulting in staff layoffs, reduced services, and eliminated positions. It also cut higher education funding was also cut, gutted alternative schools, and removed DEI programs across K-12 schools. Cultural institutions were impacted as well, including a 30% cut to the Indiana State Library. At the same time, increased policy constraints on Medicaid have added red tape that burdens Hoosier families.
These cuts are Statehouse decisions that reduce service capacity and limit access to education, healthcare, and workforce pathways. I support restoring funding to services that have been affected because these investments strengthen Indiana’s long-term economic stability.
Turnout is driven by two factors: access and efficacy. I support improving access through expanded early voting, no-excuse absentee voting, same-day voter registration, and modernization of voter rolls.
Indiana’s low turnout is primarily driven by a lack of efficacy. Hoosiers don’t believe their votes matter because the outcomes feel predetermined. We must strengthen civic education for students, so they understand how to engage in our electoral process. Adopting a ranked-choice voting system would give more power to the voters rather than the party. Including ballot initiatives in our elections would also give a direct voice to Hoosiers in local and state policy.
Indiana has ‘the what’ and ‘the how’ of voting, we must empower ‘the why'.
Economies are powered by their investment in children. Indiana must build strong families through school support and home stability.
Indiana should fully fund public education and childcare, including universal Pre-K for ages 3 and 4 so every child has a strong foundation.
We must also address conditions outside the classroom by expanding access to affordable housing, accessible maternal and mental healthcare, and ensuring children have consistent access to food through fully funded meal programs.
We can refocus education funding on public schools by ending private voucher programs. This ensures resources are directed toward the systems that serve the most Hoosier families. When children are safer and healthier, our communities succeed.

Using her analytical background, she built the agency’s policies, procedures, and compliance systems from the ground up to meet Indiana Department of Health and Medicaid Waiver standards. Prior to that, she spent seven years as a Licensed Insurance Agent and now serves as President of Rental Solutions FW LLC, controlling a residential property portfolio. Her work is defined by the ability to bridge technical data with a focus on practical, real-world results for families.

Julie McGill is a first-time candidate with an extensive record of fighting for Indiana families. As a special needs mom navigating the system for her son, Grant, she mastered Indiana Code and federal regulations to challenge bureaucracy and improve care systems. She has submitted detailed public comments to the FSSA and CMS and assisted families with service appeals; in 2024, her advocacy against waiver cuts helped secure a direct meeting with the Governor. A former advisory board member for Indiana Families United for Care, she now manages a statewide network of nearly 1,900 Medicaid providers and is prepared to put that expertise to work for every family in District 15.

Yes. I would prioritize restoring programs that deliver a strong return on investment and bring Hoosiers' federal tax dollars back to Indiana. Too often, Indiana has left that money on the table. Summer EBT for children, childcare assistance, and home-based care for seniors and people with disabilities help working families stay in the workforce while drawing significant federal funding into our communities. These dollars support local jobs, stabilize families, and prevent far more expensive interventions down the road. Choosing not to participate doesn't save money. It shifts costs. When a program strengthens both our workforce and our economy, participating is simply smart fiscal policy.
Indiana’s low turnout isn’t because Hoosiers don’t care; it’s because our system creates unnecessary voting hurdles. I agree with SOS candidate Blythe Potter that we need better voter outreach and an end to last-minute purges. No one should choose between a paycheck and their right to vote. To make voting easier, I support extended poll hours, same-day registration with valid ID, more early voting locations, and mail-in ballots available to any Hoosier who requests one. Bringing back ballot initiatives gives voters a direct say on issues they care about most. When voting is easier, more Hoosiers participate, our democracy grows stronger, and our elected officials are more accountable. Every eligible Hoosier deserves to be heard.
Safe, stable living conditions require proactive investment, not reactive spending. Children thrive when families have affordable housing, childcare, and accessible healthcare. My experience analyzing complex systems for risk shows that neglecting programs like CCDF vouchers is a massive fiscal failure. Investing in family stability now prevents the far greater future costs of crisis intervention and institutional care. I will fight to restore Medicaid services that keep families stable and ensure schools prepare students for real life, not just a graduation box. By cutting red tape and prioritizing these immediate investments, we protect both Indiana’s children and our long-term economic health.
I am not a career politician; I’m a neighbor who has called Fort Wayne home my entire life. As a small business owner, wife, and mother of three, I know what it means to work hard only to feel like the system is working against you. I’ve navigated bureaucracy to fight for my son’s disability services and helped other families do the same.
My background in statistics gave me a unique way of looking at these problems. I don’t just see numbers on a page; I see the patterns others miss and understand how today's decisions impact our community's long-term stability.
District 15 deserves a senator who listens and has the tools to find real answers. Families here are squeezed by rising costs and underfunded schools. I’ve felt those pressures myself. The problem in state government isn't a lack of spending it's that we need to know where every dollar is going and that it's going where it belongs.
That's why I've announced The Great Hoosier Audit initiative. This comprehensive, top-to-bottom, independent review of state government will root out waste, fraud, and abuse.
We will do more than find the problems. We will use AI fraud detection tools to ongoingly prevent fraud, deploy more investigators to find the bad actors, and have harsher penalties for fraudsters.
This plan will protect Hoosier taxpayers and ensure Indiana never becomes like Minnesota, California, or Illinois.
The best way to increase voter turnout is to restore trust in our government and government officials.
I'm running because State Senator Liz Brown has broken the trust with the voters of our district.
Liz Brown violated her pledge to serve only two terms, raised our taxes for decades, and lied to us about her support for sanctuary cities and biological boys playing in girls sports.
As your state senator before I vote on any piece of legislation, I will ask how does this help Hoosier families and taxpayers.
Being forthright with voters from the beginning is the way we increase participation in our elections.
As the parent of 4 children, 3 of whom are adopted, this is a topic near and dear to my heart.
First, we'll put The Great Hoosier Audit into action.
We can begin to claw back dollars that have been fraudulently obtained so those resources can be used to cut the tax burden or moved to other programs where those dollars are needed.
Our Adopting the Future initiative will give adoptive & foster parents and their families more tools to be successful, provide homes to children who need them most, and will make sure expecting and new mothers have access to resources to not only Choose Life but also choose what is best for the future of them and their child.
