Explain the role of a Township Trustee.
What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?
What are your top two priorities as Trustee if you are (re)elected in 2026?
What is the most important challenge facing your township, and how will you meet this challenge?
What is one other thing you want voters to know about you before they cast their 2026 ballots?
A Trustee is responsible for being a "good steward" of tax dollars received through levies. This is a full-time position with an annual budget that must be approved and adopted annually. The scope of the work includes, but is not limited to: providing Eligibility Standards and Guidelines which serves as the footprint for Township Assistance; approving contracts, hiring Township staff, monitoring financial transactions and banking reconciliations, making deposits and paying bills promptly; approval of purchases orders for services under the guidelines' types of assistance: Burial, Food, Non-food items, Shelter - Rent/Mortgage, Medical/Prescriptions; Holding public meetings, completing and submitting annual reports, etc.
I have worked for over forty years with extensive experience with people from all walks of life as an employee of The Evansville Housing Authority and the Flaherty and Collins Property Management team. I volunteer my time with several organizations in the area. I am considered a "people person," not trying to please everyone, yet maintaining consistent and respectful relationships are very important to me. I continue building knowledge through training and networking. A strong quality that I have is staff supervision and managing client/staff issues with the value of fairness in the forefront of all situations. As modern technology advances, I do my best to keep myself in "the know, and strive to continue making strides with technology.
Two priorities that are equally important in being consistent with my service as Pigeon Township Trustee is to keep the annual budget "in the black;" along with renovating the Dorathea McGregor Shelter - with a vision to focus on the goals of how it will effectively serve the community and the plight to end homelessness.
As a Trustee who works "For The People" 24/7, I will continue to look at the eligibility criteria for Township Assistance in such a way that if we are not able to provide assistance, then I will make the appropriate referrals so that no one feels turned away. I may not always give someone an answer they want to hear; however I will return "The Call" to my servant duty.

What people should know about me is: I am dependable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to hard work ethics. If I do not have an immediate answer to a question or problem, I will do all that I can to find resolution or an answer.
