Vanderburgh County German Township Board Member {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

The County is broken up into taxing districts known as townships. Vanderburgh County is separated into eight townships. The township is governed by two distinct elected offices. Day to day operations are managed by the Trustee, who serves as the executive of the Township while oversight and advice is provided by a three member Township Board, who serve as the Township’s legislative body.The trustee is assisted by a three-member Township Board whose members are elected to four year terms. Duties of the board include adopting the annual budget, serving as a board of finance and approving township contracts. In January of each year, the trustee presents to the board an annual report showing the receipts, expenditures, investments and debts of the township. The approved report is then published in local papers for public inspection.

The main responsibilities of the Township Board Members are to attend all board meetings and participate in discussions. Review and approve the township budget and financial expenditures. Establish and enforce local ordinances and policies. Represent the interests of the township residents when making decisions. Please engage with and collaborate with other local agencies and community organizations. Address constituent concerns and provide information on township services to residents.
I am currently retired, but I worked for nearly 25 years at American General Finance, currently known as One Main. I was a manager of a group of approximately 50 employees who collected past-due accounts. I learned how to communicate with people when there was good and bad news. I had to make some tough decisions, but I was always looking out for what was best for my employees. I'm an honest person who wants to make things better for people in need. I have a great sense of humor, which I think is essential in working with people.
First, I will determine what the needs of the township residents are and whether those needs are being met. Secondly, I would help the Township Trustee meet unmet needs.
The most important challenge in German Township is to identify any unmet needs and determine the changes needed to provide stellar service.
I love challenges and engaging with folks. I'm the second-oldest of nine children, which taught me a lot about communication, as did my position at American General. I am a lifelong resident of Evansville, and I am a college graduate with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
