Specifically, I'd like to go back to the number of voting centers as well as the full 28 days for early voting. However, legislation alone is not going to achieve the turnout. We need leadership that educates the base on why voting is so important. We have a voter disenfranchisement problem in Indiana, and I believe a hybrid approach will return the results we want to see.
I believe we have to move towards a co-management approach where community is engaged and in the loop with matters that affect shared resources. I've signed many NDA's in my private career, but we need to move towards an age of transparency in government. As an elected representative, my best quality will be access to me and my thoughts, and I'm committed to communicating early and often.
Teachers are bing underpaid by 75%. Adjusted for the current economic enviroment, we should have a minimum starting salary of $75k. Those who feel the calling to teach our youth should be respected and uplifted by the local community. Starting with right to work, followed by 15 years of media attacks on the profession, and state lawmakers subsidizing private school entitlements since 2011, we have failed our teachers. Our local officials continue to push new standards, new testing criteria all while moving $497 Million in private school handouts.
I want to increase the guaranteed wage of a teacher, and I want to end school choice so we can set our teachers up for success in and out of the classroom.
We should absolutely be leveraging referendums to settle issues that our lawmakers continue to ignore. Referendums should be a bipartisan win because it ensures your people have a voice should one party hold a majority. I also am an advocate for ranked-choice voting, but Gov. Braun signed SB-12 and it is now illegal to use RCV in county elections...
All 50 states operate a little differently, and we have the luxury of seeing what's working and learning from what's not. We live in a fast paced world and we should be setting our government up to react quickly based on the feedback of the people.

We don't need more election law, we need a return of integrity among current lawmakers and candidates who may become lawmakers. The population are tired of lying, cheating and general dishonesty among their leaders. Both parties!
The private landowners and the local community that these projects impact.
Yes, I believe the public schools receive adequate funds. 51% of the state budget goes to education. I have talked to too many teachers from our district that are telling me of the waste, the school system is too top heavy according to many school board members and teachers. The school boards need to be able to move funds around within the budget to meet immediate needs and plan for future spending that require large sums. We in the private sector would be bankrupt if we operated our personal or business finances the way too many public sectors operate!
I am in support of hearing from the people in any way possible. If we are to represent the people than the people need to be able to contact us and tell us their concerns and ideas.
