Candidate Statement
As a mother, a sales leader in corporate America, and the daughter of two Air Force veterans, I understand that the strength of our community lies in practical solutions and dedicated service. My career has been built on the foundation of accountability and strategic growth, and I am running for the Indiana House of Representatives to bring that same results-oriented mindset to the Statehouse.

I would support targeted property tax credits for low-income families, veterans, and seniors rather than across-the-board cuts. We can supplement this revenue through our cash reserves (estimated to be $5B by 2027) without impacting services and resources to our public schools and communities.
Additionally, repealing the state sales tax on residential utility bills would provide an immediate monthly savings for every household, a move that could be offset by closing tax loopholes for large-scale industrial data centers that place a heavy strain on the local power grid.
I also believe that investing in childcare is essential to our infrastructure and I would support policies that make childcare more accessible and affordable, to encourage investment in our workforce and increase tax revenues.
I believe that healthcare is not only a right, but also essential to Indiana's workforce and infrastructure; healthy Hoosiers can contribute to our communities and economy.
Indiana consistently ranks among the states with the highest hospital facility fees. I support legislation to cap hospital prices at 260% of Medicare rates, a move that would save Hoosier businesses and families millions.
I would also support a ban on reporting medical debt to credit bureaus and limiting medical debt wage garnishment. Hoosiers should be able to afford their homes and groceries while also paying off medical debt.
By treating healthcare as essential infrastructure, we make Indiana a more competitive place to live and work. When we lower premiums and protect our community hospitals from closing, we aren't just improving health outcomes—we are providing direct, meaningful relief to the household budget.
My priority is ensuring that public funds prioritize public schools that serve every child, regardless of their background or zip code.
I support a "Public-First" funding plan that ensures inflationary increases for traditional districts keep pace with the rising costs of utilities and staff salaries. I will also advocate to raise the starting teacher salary to $60,000 to ensure Indiana stops losing our best educators to neighboring states.
Finally, I would fight for Universal Accountability Standards. This means charter schools or any school taking public vouchers should be required to accept all students, be transparent about their admissions and finances, and participate in the same state testing and reporting as our public schools.
I believe that public schools are the foundation of our communities, and by investing in children, we are investing in Indiana's future.
True safety isn’t just about the absence of crime; it’s about the presence of trust, professional standards, and a holistic approach that addresses the root causes of instability.
To improve public safety while balancing enforcement with civil liberties and community trust, I support state funding for ongoing de-escalation and mental health crisis training. When officers have the tools to resolve a situation without force, it protects both the citizen’s civil liberties and the officer’s safety. I will also advocate for competitive state-funded grants to help local departments meet the $60,000 starting salary benchmark. High-quality public safety requires recruiting and retaining the best talent.
Finally, as the survivor of a school shooting, I will support common sense gun reform. I will fight to protect and fully fund the enforcement of Indiana’s "Red Flag" Law . This allows law enforcement to temporarily remove firearms from individuals in crisis, following due process.
I believe Indiana is at a crossroads. We all want to see our state become a leader in the high-tech economy, but we cannot allow "growth at any cost" to compromise the very resources—our water, our power grid, and our land—that make our communities a great place to live.
Current estimates show that data centers in Indiana could soon consume more electricity than all 6.8 million Hoosier households combined. I support legislation like Senate Bill 257, which prohibits utility companies from passing the infrastructure costs of serving massive data centers onto residential customers.
I support reforming our data center tax incentives to require on-site renewable energy generation (like solar and battery storage) and the use of union labor for construction. Lastly, I would advocate for a Statewide Water Resource Plan that requires a rigorous, public environmental impact study before any data center project is approved. We must protect Indiana's environmental heritage and natural resources.
I would pass a package of legislation around family affordability and stability designed to lower the two biggest costs weighing down our families today: childcare and housing.
This act would establish a "7% Cap," ensuring that no working family in Indiana spends more than 7% of their household income on high-quality childcare. It also provides state grants to raise the "floor" for childcare worker wages to $20/hour, ensuring our local providers in Westfield can actually recruit and retain the staff they need to end the waitlists.
I would also include first-time homebuyer grants, funded by a surcharge on out-of-state corporate investors who buy up our local neighborhoods, ensuring that homes stay in the hands of Hoosier families, not global hedge funds.
Generally, I would look at targeted, measurable actions to support Hoosiers - versus board tax cuts that have missed the mark. I'd also utilize our reserves to re-invest in Indiana and our future.
