US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 10

Each state receives representation in the US House of Representatives in proportion to the size of its population but is entitled to at least one representative. There are currently 435 representatives, a number fixed by law since 1911. Starting in 2024, NC has 14 members of the US House; the NC State Legislature changed the district boundaries in October, 2025. The House shares with the Senate responsibility for all lawmaking within the United States. For an act of Congress to be valid, both houses must approve an identical document. Each representative serves a two-year term. There are no term limits.

Simply put, I have the right combination of leadership experience, education, grit, and determination that make me the best candidate for this office.

I am the only candidate in this race with real world experience in both healthcare and education. As a physician associate for the last 15 years, I'm accustomed to making life or death decisions. In this moment in our country's history, there are many actions to be taken that are of the same life or death caliber.

I am the only woman in this race, and the only candidate who can speak to this regime's "war on women" from a personal and professional standpoint.
Our country is reeling from the murders of American citizens by a paramilitary force claiming to be immigration enforcement. ICE must be abolished and a new, fair, lawful immigration system put in place.

Cuts to healthcare from the BBB must be rolled back. We must lay the groundwork for Medicare for All. Prescription drug prices need to be decreased, and PBMs must be eliminated, as they contribute only to red tape and corporate profit. Prior authorization practices of insurance companies should be eliminated. Support for independently owned healthcare practices should be implemented, and corporate/private equity takeover of healthcare has to be restricted.
I will fight for policies that make it possible to build a secure life: lower healthcare costs, affordable housing, and wages that keep up with reality. That means advocating for Medicare for All and capping prescription drug prices. It means investing in housing supply and first-time buyer support so families aren’t priced out of their own communities. I will push for paid family leave and subsidized childcare so people can work without falling behind. I will invest in job training, clean energy, and rural infrastructure so opportunity exists everywhere.
Cooperation between political parties is necessary, but on issues of human rights, we must NEVER compromise. It is never acceptable to rob people of their healthcare, or let kids go hungry, or discriminate against people for who they love, or kidnap children and immigrants off our streets. I will always stand on principle on issues of human rights.

When one person stands on principle, that inspires others to do the same. Courage is contagious, and it is my hope that my example of courage will spread throughout our leadership.

We must always remember that we are representatives of those who elected us and we should represent their interests, not our own.
In general, I support a Green New Deal: I support investing in clean energy, modernizing our power grid, and weatherizing homes so people pay less on their monthly bills. This also leads to less pollution that contributes to health issues.

Environmental concerns related to AI are significant. Data centers are putting pressure on power grids and driving up electricity costs. Local water supplies are being drained due to the cooling process used in many data centers. Some of these centers are placed in areas that negatively impact communities and lifestyles. Regulations need to be placed on these data centers to power them with clean energy, restrict water use and limit them to locations that will not negatively impact working families.
As a healthcare provider, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of our patients and healthcare workers - all healthcare workers, not just doctors, nurses and PAs. For too long we have been treated like expendable labor and used as revenue generators for greedy corporations who have destroyed both trust and quality of healthcare. Patients are caught in the middle, and are stuck fighting for basic needs when they should instead be able to concentrate on being healthy. Healthcare should not be a partisan issue, and healthcare providers should be running healthcare in this country. I have written legislation to ensure this happens in the future.

As an educator, I am worried for my students, who are being educated in an environment in which academic freedom is attacked and quality is being decreased. The cuts to student loan access will impact all of us, not just students, as enrollment in vital training programs drop. We must reform student financial aid and higher ed affordability.

Position/philosophy statement I am running now because our national debt has placed our country in financial peril and a foreign policy that uses violence to achieve peace is making our nation less safe. I do not believe we can create the world we want by emphasizing our differen

Through my experiences in medicine working with people in other groups (patients, doctors and other specialties, insurers, drug companies, regulators, and legislators) I have learned to try to see things from other peoples’ perspectives, to recognize shared goals, and to engage respectfully. Those experiences have also made me very optimistic. People are not so far apart. We can work together to leave our children a financially secure country and a more peaceful world.
The Federal debt is like a cancer, spreading rapidly under both Democratic and Republican administrations. We desperately need to make serious, responsible changes. By focusing on securing our borders instead of policing the world, we can reduce military spending and make our country safer. We can cut healthcare costs by implementing market-based solutions that give people incentives to use healthcare resources wisely. Social Security was created to be a safety net for those who need it. Now that we are living longer, healthier lives, we can ensure its solvency by increasing the age of eligibility for healthy adults who want to continue working and by reducing payments to wealthy individuals who, like me, do not need a safety net.
Being a physician, I have seen how well-meaning government regulation makes running a business more difficult. We need to cut regulations that stifle business growth. The resulting competition for workers will increase workers’ pay. I would work against well-meaning but misguided government deficits, subsidies, and tariffs that raise the prices consumers face. I am serious about cutting the massive government deficit. It causes inflation that hurts low income families the most, crowds out investment, limits job growth, and will leave our children a bankrupt country.
Government cannot legislate civility. I would work to decrease political polarization and improve the effectiveness of the federal government by being a good role model, recognizing that Americans across the entire political spectrum want a strong, secure country that gives everyone an opportunity for success. As someone who is not committed to following the dictates of either major party, I will work toward civility and compromise.
Global warming is occurring, and some of that is due to industrial CO2 production. However, science has limitations when it comes to predicting the future. We can know that temperatures are rising, but we cannot know how much they will change or the full impact of that increase. This prevents us from knowing with certainty what the right policies will be. Plus, to have the resources we need to protect the environment, we need a strong economy. Market forces offer the best solution. They have already led to the development of technologies and processes that generate cleaner energy, will allow us to adapt to climate change, and can mitigate some of its effects. I will promote policies that put the market to work protecting our planet.
As your congressman, my goal is to leave our children — and children everywhere — a fiscally sound country and a less violent culture. I believe the best way to achieve those goals is to promote individual liberty and international peace, build on our foundation of shared values, and seek reasonable compromise. Bringing this fresh perspective to Congress, I will work across divides to shrink government, reduce federal debt, and let people live their lives as they wish, as long as they do no harm to others.
