In 2008, the City of Staples made the decision to incorporate, I was proud to be an integral part of that process. From that moment on, I made a personal commitment to stay involved in city government and serve our community wherever I was needed. Since then, I have remained actively engaged in public service. I have had the honor of serving on the City Council, as Mayor Pro Tem, and now as the current Mayor of Staples. Each role has given me firsthand experience with the responsibilities of local government and reinforced my belief that leadership is about service. As your commissioner I will continue the same commitment with transparency to the citizens of Guadalupe County my door will always be open and my phone will be on.
Safety and Security are my top priorities. Those two words carry many different meanings. Safety and Security mean addressing drugs and crime, maintaining safe and reliable roads, protecting our water resources, and managing growth in a responsible way. I stand firmly with our law enforcement officers, first responders, and VFDs. I will fight for the resources they need to do their jobs effectively and safely. As county commissioner, I will meet directly with state legislators and advocate for legislation that limits the number of TCEQ wastewater permits, not only with this help save our water resources it would also help with our roadways. Growth is inevitable but it needs to be handled with responsibility.
As Mayor my door is always open and my phone is always on and I respond to every single phone call, text and email that I receive about anything and I will continue that tradition as your Commissioner. I will host town hall meetings and invite my constituents to attend with their questions and concerns.
I would like to see legislators passed bills that limit the number of TCEQ wastewater treatment permits that can be issued in a geographical area or population. I will personally meet with lawmakers at the Capitol to discuss how this can be achieved. I will also meet with TXDOT to discuss the thoroughfare plan in order to protect private property rights.

Experience My professional experience began in 2002 as an Intern for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison in her Austin, TX office, where I assisted constituent services, policy research, and legislative operations while completing my undergraduate studies. This early role in public service deepened my understanding of ethical governance and the importance of representing Texas interests effectively. Following Graduation, I worked at Dell Computer for a year and learned I valued time away from cubicles, and sought to commission as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, actively serving 20 years until my retirement in 2026. During this time, I led soldiers and teams through multiple combat deployments in high-stakes environments, managing strategic plann

My background is rooted in leadership and service—with a real commitment to our community as a dad raising kids right here in Precinct 2.

I interned for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison in Austin, learning to listen and advocate for Texans. After a brief time at Dell, I served 20 years as an Army Infantry Officer, retiring as a Major in 2026 after multiple combat deployments. Leading under pressure built my skills in strategic planning, accountability, team-building, and asking the right questions to deliver results.

I'm always growing and learning. My positive growth mindset and servant-hearted leadership will help me listen deeply, lead transparently, and deliver practical solutions for our growth, infrastructure, and families.
My highest priority for Precinct 2 is managing growth thoughtfully—building the infrastructure we need while protecting our rural charm, property rights, and the great schools my own kids attend here.

As a dad raising a family in this precinct, I see how fast things are changing, and it hits close to home. I'd address it with early resident input on plans like roads, smart budgeting to avoid tax hikes, and comprehensive quarterly updates on progress—sharing clear reports so everyone knows where we stand and is involved to their comfort level. We'll grow strong without losing what makes this home special for our families.
Engaging residents means being truly accessible and proactive—because as a dad with kids in NISD, your concerns hit close to home for my family too.

I'll stay directly connected through social media, phone, and email—always responsive. I'll publish my full calendar online for complete transparency, so you know how to reach me and what's ahead. I'll host regular town halls across the precinct, attend community events like First Friday Feast to meet you where you are, gather input early before Commissioners Court votes, and advocate fiercely for your priorities.

Servant leadership is about listening with heart, building trust, and ensuring every voice shapes decisions for our families and community.
I'd like the Texas Legislature to strengthen county authority over subdivision regulations in unincorporated areas—giving commissioners courts better tools to ensure developers fairly cover impacts on roads, schools, and services, so new growth doesn't burden existing families.

Current state rules limit what we can require, and recent changes have loosened standards further. Restoring stronger local control, along with support for property tax relief and rural protections, would help us manage growth responsibly and keep costs down. This would empower local leaders to protect our quality of life and deliver practical infrastructure solutions tailored right here to our community's needs.
