I've lived in Potter County for almost 20 years. I raised my family, built a law practice with my husband, and feel this is the right time to serve. A large portion of the judge’s responsibilities is handling probate and guardianship matters, which is what I've done during my career. My legal experience has also allowed me to work on business transactions, review and negotiate contracts, and manage complex decisions, all of which are critical given the multiple responsibilities of this office.

My top priority is developing a long-term plan for Potter County. It will help us identify challenges before they become crises, prioritize funding, and make more informed decisions about infrastructure, public safety, and revenue. It will also give us a framework to address our shrinking population by attracting new businesses and high-paying jobs. I will also focus on the county budget and make sure every dollar invested by taxpayers is used wisely and delivers real value to the County.

Although the title includes the word “Judge,” the County Judge serves as the county’s chief executive. The role demands steady leadership, sound judgment, and balance across many duties, including presiding over Commissioners Court, handling probate, guardianship, and mental health matters, and providing emergency management leadership. I am the only candidate with the breadth of experience to handle those responsibilities.

As I mentioned in the previous question, as County Judge, one's primary responsibilities include presiding over Commissioners Court; hearing and deciding probate, guardianship, and mental health matters; and providing emergency management leadership. One of the most challenging duties is working with the Commissioners and county staff to build a budget that meets staff needs while remaining conservative and mindful of how every decision affects the people of Potter County.

As the county’s chief officer, the weight of these decisions rests with the County Judge. One must be thoughtful and creative while operating within the law and established procedures. That responsibility requires listening carefully, accepting criticism, and being fully accountable for the actions of Commissioners Court and county staff.
