I am a lifelong Randall County resident and conservative Republican who has built a legal career rooted in integrity, hard work, and a deep passion for justice. Through my extensive work in criminal prosecution, criminal defense, protective orders, family litigation, and cases involving Child Protective Services, I have seen firsthand how decisions made in our courts truly impact lives, families, and futures. I believe in upholding the law while never losing sight of the people behind the cases.
The Randall County Court at Law #1 handles cases that touch the heart of our community - family law, civil disputes up to $325,000, and criminal misdemeanors. These cases aren’t just legal matters; they are real people’s lives, and they deserve a judge who will approach every case with integrity, impartiality, and respect. With 21 years of extensive experience, I bring the knowledge, skillset, and commitment needed to protect the values we share as your next Randall County Court at Law #1 Judge.
The top three issues are 1) Case backlogs and overloaded dockets 2) Indigent defense and right-to-counsel shortages 3) Resource and staffing constraints. If elected, I would implement active case management strategies, leverage statutory or administrative support for new programs, and ensure positions are staffed while creating positive work environments. I would work to keep good employees who continue to train throughout their employment, which is pivotal in creating efficiency and change.
My vision for the Randall County Court at Law #1 is simple: a court that serves with fairness, transparency, and compassion. A court that upholds the law while never losing sight of the people behind the cases. I am a mother, experienced attorney, lifelong Randall County resident and conservative Republican who believes in justice that is not only impartial, but also accessible and efficient for everyone in Randall County. I believe in providing justice with integrity and service with heart.

Well rounded life/work experience: I grew up working on our family farm and the oil fields in Borger, Texas. I received a degree from the U.T. BBA/Petroleum Land Management and worked for Exxon as a landman while attending law school. I have practiced law for 38 years and have experience as a prosecutor, civil, criminal and family lawyer. I have had more jury trials and written more appeals than my opponents combined. I am the only candidate that is recognized by the State Bar as a legal expert.
My goals are to be fair to all parties appearing before the court, ensuring all have the opportunity to be heard and the law is then properly applied to their cases. Judges in Texas do not make laws but apply the laws as written by the State’s legislature and the Governor. A court that timely moves the cases is a benefit to Randall County citizens. Moving cases reduces jail costs, attorney costs, and overall litigation costs to the parties.
1) Make sure both sides are treated fairly with the respect they deserve in Court. 2)Prioritize the speedy movement of cases to final resolution. 3) Be aware of how any ruling affects public safety.
My philosophy is the same as our 40th president. “Our agenda is quite simple -- to appoint judges who don't confuse the criminals with the victims and who believe the courts should interpret the law, not make it.” Quote - Ronald Reagan.
I have been a licensed Texas attorney since 2003 with over 20 years of experience in county and district courts. I founded my own practice in Amarillo handling criminal, family, civil, and probate matters, including jury and non-jury trials. I also served as an Assistant Potter County Attorney prosecuting criminal cases and handling child protection and domestic violence matters.
The role of a County Court at Law Judge is to apply the law fairly and impartially, manage cases efficiently, and ensure due process for all parties. The judge must remain neutral, follow statutory and ethical limits, and decide cases based solely on the facts and law, not personal views or outside influences.
First, efficiency and docket management to reduce delays and improve access to justice. Second, fair and consistent application of the law in both criminal and civil matters. Third, appropriate use of lawful alternatives in criminal cases to address underlying issues while ensuring accountability and public safety.
My judicial philosophy is grounded in fairness, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law. Every case deserves careful attention, consistent application of the law, and dignity for all parties. Judges must be firm but fair, efficient but thorough, and always mindful of the limits of judicial authority.
My wife and I have been married for sixteen years, and we have eight children ranging from fifteen years to eighteen months old. I have served as a prosecutor for seven years. I have mediated family law cases. I have worked with at risk youth. I am an Eagle Scout. I have teenage children. I have a broad range of experience, learned multiple languages and worked in a variety of jobs outside and inside the legal profession. I know and follow the law, and expect others to do the same.
My goal is to provide Randall County with the same level of integrity, patience, kindness, and fairness that Judge Anderson delivered for many decades. I am responsible for obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law that gives us freedom. My public, private, and family life should reflect these values. I handle family law cases, some criminal cases, and juvenile matters that occur in Randall County. I cannot take sides before making a decision. I ensure everyone gets a fair shake.
How to strengthen families? A judge deals with consequences of adult choices. Struggling children and adults need patience, neutrality, and love from a judge before he rules as the law requires. How do we keep juvenile offenders from becoming adult criminals? We push them to make and complete educational goals to help them be successful in life. How do we assist individuals with mental health challenges? We trust and refer folks to trained professionals to help with these difficult situations.
The U.S. Constitution provides us with rights and responsibilities. I know it was divinely inspired. In a democracy, following the law maintains everyone's freedom. A judge knows and follows the law, publicly and privately. A hypocrite makes a bad judge. Both sides present facts and evidence, which the judge weighs to decide what the law requires the result to be. Everyone gets a fair shake in court. A judge should be no one's enemy. Patience and kindness are necessary for justice to be served.
