Potter - County Commissioner Precinct 2
A County Commissioner has broad policy-making authority as a member of the County's Commissioners Court, and oversees services in his or her precinct such as road and bridge maintenance and construction. The board of commissioners functions as the county's primary legislative and policy-making body. Most boards also control county land usage, oversee environmental issues, and possess executive powers, meaning they have the authority to appoint or remove departmental heads.

I’m a fourth-generation Potter County resident and lifelong Amarillo native. I graduated from Palo Duro High and attended Amarillo College. For over 25 years, I ran a small business, learning accountability and how to get things done. Today, I travel the county as a truck driver, meeting neighbors and seeing our community up close. My roots, experience, and love for this area give me the perspective to serve our community well. This is the place I chose to call home.
From my perspective, a county commissioner’s job is to make sure our local government uses resources wisely and focuses on the needs of the people in their precinct. They help keep services running smoothly, support public safety, manage budgets, and ensure that residents’ concerns are addressed. They don’t make decisions alone, but full court’s agreement—but the role is really about being a responsible steward, staying transparent, and making county government work for the community.
The top issues in Potter County are public safety, low property taxes, and protecting our small-town values. I’ll support law enforcement by working to restore deputy incentives and retention programs and taking decisive action to end the Potter County Jail crisis, which has suffered from slow, costly leadership. I’ll fight to keep property taxes low, so families and businesses can thrive. And I’ll stand up for our community’s traditions and way of life, making sure Potter County stays the close-knit, values-driven place we’re proud to call home.
