As the next Arkansas State Representative for District 71, my ultimate duty is to represent the interests and needs of the constituents of the District. I would propose, debate, and vote on legislation that affects state policy, budget, and laws. I would also engage with community members, address local issues, and work closely to secure funding and resources that would move District 71 forward.

Additionally, I would collaborate with other lawmakers and government officials, working across the aisle, to advocate for the needs of my constituents and contribute positively to the overall governance of the state of Arkansas.
As a retired public school educator and current caregiver to my elderly mother with dementia, I would bring a unique perspective to the Arkansas legislature on both education and healthcare issues. I understand the complexities of the state educational system, especially as it relates to the outcome disparities of students in our public schools.

Additionally, as a caregiver to my mother, the experience of navigating rural healthcare has provided valuable insight into the challenges facing my family and many families dealing with healthcare and aging, making me aware of the need for accessible healthcare services and supports. The combination of these experiences equips me to address important issues that affect District 71 and AR.
My focus will be on improving overall access to healthcare for families, especially those families taking care of a loved one and the elderly with no one to care for them. I would advocate through bi-partisan support for policies that expand healthcare services, enhance funding for home health care programs, and promote initiatives that increase awareness and support for caregivers. I would continue to foster relationships with local experts from health organizations and advocacy groups that can also help identify specific community needs and effective solutions.
