What training, experience and background make you the best qualified candidate to be your party’s nominee for this office?

What are the two (2) most pressing issues that you will face in the office that you seek? Describe your specific plans/ideas for addressing these issues.

I am best qualified to serve Fort Bend County because I believe in equal justice, fairness, and meaningful access to our courts. With over 21 years of legal experience, including 16 years as a licensed real estate agent and service as a certified guardianship attorney, I have worked with individuals, families, youth, seniors, and business owners. My experience across criminal, civil, and transactional law supports firm, impartial decisions grounded in law, accountability, and community trust.
Two of the most pressing issues are court efficiency and ensuring fair, consistent application of the law. Managing growing dockets while maintaining due process requires preparation, organization, and respect for all parties. I will address this by being prepared, ruling timely, and managing cases efficiently while ensuring each litigant is heard. Another critical issue is maintaining public trust in the courts. I will do so by applying the law impartially, treating all parties with dignity, and issuing decisions based solely on the law and evidence.
I have served as the Presiding Judge of Fort Bend County Court at Law No. 3 since 2019, overseeing criminal, civil, juvenile, mental health, probate, and guardianship cases. I founded the Juvenile Intervention and Mental Health Court to address the root causes of justice involvement for juveniles while promoting accountability and protecting public safety. I bring proven judicial experience, effective courtroom leadership, and a commitment to fairness, accountability, and constitutional rights.
The two most pressing issues are access to justice and the growing impact of mental health needs in the court system. I will continue to ensure cases are handled fairly, efficiently, and without unnecessary delay through strong case management, clear procedures, and an accessible court for self represented litigants. I will also strengthen and expand problem solving approaches, including mental health and juvenile intervention programs, to address root causes of justice involvement while maintaining accountability and improving public safety.
