I currently the Manager of Operations in the Fort Bend County Clerk’s office (3 yrs) and was Operations Manager at NEXCOM (16 yrs, civilian, supporting military). I have been a community service advocate in Fort Bend County for 5 years, giving me experience in office operations, records management, and serving our diverse community effectively.
The two most pressing issues are managing growing public records efficiently and streamlining court and vital record processes. I am addressing these by modernizing records management systems, implementing process improvements, supporting veterans, and ensuring property and vital records remain accurate, accessible, and timely for all residents.
I’m uniquely qualified due to my education in Computer Information Systems and experience of 20+ years as a business owner with technology, management, operations, legal and real estate background. Dedicated Fort Bend community servant leader for over 20+ years leading, supporting, fundraising for nonprofits, charities, churches and nonsecular organizations, food drives, disaster relief, and individual community leaders. Elected Mud Director and current Fort Bend Democratic Party Vice Chair.
Top priorities are securing records & efficiency and improving customer service and accessibility. I plan to modernize operations, strengthen digital security to protect the public’s records, and streamline filing services so Clerk’s Office is faster, safer, more efficient and responsive. I plan to improve customer services by properly staffing locations, ensuring fair working conditions and offering youth internship opportunities. Plan to improve accessibility by adding more locations, including mobile services and increasing language & disabled access for our growing diverse county. Plan to increase accountability via more public engagement through educational and charitable outreach.
My experience uniquely qualifies me to serve as Fort Bend County Clerk. As a Fort Bend ISD trustee, I helped transform a struggling district into a high-performing one and reduced a $180M bond shortfall within a $1.26B budget. I bring proven budget and bond management experience from Fort Bend ISD, MUD 131, and Houston Community College. With a Master’s in Education Administration and strong mathematical, statistical, and AI programming skills, I am prepared to modernize the Clerk’s office.
The two most pressing issues I will face as Fort Bend County Clerk are modernizing the Clerk’s Office and retaining a strong workforce. I will push for smart, phased technology upgrades that improve service and transparency while staying within budget and avoiding long-term financial risk. I will also focus on employee retention by building a respectful, professional workplace that values training, accountability, and staff development—because stable employees deliver better service to the public.
I’ve spent many years serving the public as a State District Judge, presiding over national cases and managing complex records. I served as Administrative Judge, leading twenty-two felony courts. I supervised Internal Affairs Division cases for HPD’s Legal Department, taught at-risk youth, served as an adjunct professor at Texas Southern University, and I’ve run a successful law, mediation & arbitration practice. These experiences prepare me to lead the County Clerk’s Office with integrity.
The biggest challenges are keeping services fast and easy to use, making records easier to access, protecting people’s personal information, and ensuring the office is customer-friendly. As Fort Bend County grows, residents deserve shorter wait times, clear answers, and secure online services while still receiving helpful in-person support. I am trained in protecting systems from cyberattacks and will safeguard records while improving public access. I will also focus on training staff to be professional, responsive, and respectful so people feel welcomed, heard, and confident in the Clerk’s Office.
