VOTE411 Voter Guide

Eastern Camden County Regional School District - Voorhees {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

An elected school board member serves a three-year term. The school board represents the concerns of citizens, taxpayers and parents to the school administrators, and represents the needs of the students and school district to citizens, taxpayers and parents. The school board does not operate the district on a day-to-day basis; that is the job of the superintendent (the district’s chief executive). Rather, the school board sets policies, goals and objectives for the district, and holds the superintendent responsible for implementing those policies and goals. (Abridged from NJ School Boards Association website)Members are elected for three-year terms of service to the community and the school. Representation on the board is determined proportionately based on the populations of the three sending districts, Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro and Voorhees Township. In 2019, voters will vote for two candidates. Voorhees is represented by six people on the school board.

Slogan Fair. Focused. Forward
I was running to represent the special education community. After attending the last few board meetings I have been very turned off from being on another school board due to most current board members not having the community’s interest as the priority
I would make sure special education continues to be represented I think I would be more effective as a community member to bring to light current issues facing our community
I understand test scores are important for certain reasons but I don’t put too much focus on them. Test scores should not be the only measure to see the potential of students
I have been advocating for security for outdoor after school activities There is no protection for our kids and staff after school
