Connection Through Community
I'm running for BOE because I believe in the promise of public education and the responsibility to invest in academic excellence and community trust. Schools are strongest when built together, with transparency.
Through my leadership as Zone PTA Chair, I’ve developed the skills and insight to navigate district processes effectively. I know how to connect with the right people, collaborate toward common goals, and advocate with both compassion and determination. This does not mean I always agree with the decisions being made; I’m not afraid to speak truth to power, but I understand the importance of collaboration and of a unified board.
When elected, I will prioritize three commitments:
*Academic Excellence –Students should be challenged, supported, and inspired to reach full potential while feeling a sense of belonging. This includes prioritizing the special education population.
*Support for Teachers & Staff – Educators are the backbone of our schools. They deserve resources, respect, and to thrive. When teachers thrive, our students thrive.
Family & Community Partnership – strong partnerships with families and our broader community keep our schools rooted in the values we all share
We’re seeing progress and building a foundation, but there's room to grow. We can do better—especially in math. This isn’t a setback, but instead an opportunity.
To raise achievement, the first step is attendance. We need to make sure kids are in school every day. Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success. From there, I’ll work with the district to identify gaps and to expand intervention and tutoring opportunities
We need to set high expectations while giving every student the tools and opportunities to meet them. We can’t rely on one test score to define success- true achievement comes from engaged classrooms, meaningful projects, and a commitment to growth & belonging for each student.
Cherry Hill can improve school security through a balanced, cost-conscious approach. Priority upgrades include secure entrances, reinforced doors, and better lighting. Many of which are already underway or planned.
Visitor management, which is already a priority at our buildings, keeps schools proactive.
Training staff in de-escalation, coordinating with police, and holding trauma-informed drills strengthens preparedness.
Just as important are threat assessment teams, more counseling staff, and peer support programs to address issues early. Clear parent communication and rapid emergency alerts build trust.
Slogan
Accountable to Families. Committed to Children.
I’m running to ensure Cherry Hill schools are accountable to families and committed to every child’s success. As a parent, occupational therapist, professor, and PhD candidate in biomedicine, I bring expertise in child development, inclusive education, and data-driven decision-making. I’ve seen firsthand where communication and support fall short, especially for students with disabilities, and I’m committed to bridging those gaps.
My top goals for my first year on the Board are to improve transparency and communication so families can easily understand and engage in decisions about curriculum, budgeting, and student support. I also want to strengthen special education and inclusion, ensuring every child gets the support they need and teachers have the tools to help all students succeed. Finally, I will focus on responsible spending and teacher support, making sure our budget prioritizes classrooms, students, and retaining great teachers by giving them the training, recognition, and resources they deserve.
Test scores are one indicator of student learning, but they should not be the only measure of success. We must use them to identify gaps and guide effective targeted supports, not as a sole judgment of a child, teacher, or school.
To improve outcomes, I will advocate for:
1) Early intervention programs in reading and math to close gaps before they widen.
2) Evidence-based tutoring and enrichment opportunities during and after school.
3) Support for teachers to use data-driven instruction while maintaining a rich, well-rounded curriculum that includes the arts, physical education, and critical thinking skills.
Keeping our schools safe means protecting students physically and emotionally. I support upgrading building security and emergency systems, increasing access to counselors and mental health support to prevent bullying and address problems early, and working with families and local law enforcement for a unified, thoughtful approach. A safe school is one where students feel supported and protected, so they can focus on learning and growing.

Progress with Purpose
I'm running for the board of education to bring a fresh perspective and end the dismissive culture in CHPS. Every student, family, faculty member matters. I will commit to be a thundering voice for observed injustices, and will take issues impacting the community directly to the Superintendent and BOE President. As a West grad, and West's former BOE Representative, I've seen how the board functions, and as arguably both an insider and outsider at the same time, I'm ready to bring my commitment to honesty, transparency, and progress to the board this November. In fact, on November 5th, whether elected or not, I will contact the new Governor-Elect and immediately get to work as a voice for Cherry Hill schools.
My top priority is going to be the budget and combating the insulting state aid that Trentonites have levied against us which has adverse impacts across every aspect of our district. Ensuring we're making logical and pragmatic decisions about our financial standing will help us create impact in the areas that truly matter most. As a board member, I will always commit to working with administration and my fellow board members to streamline and condense areas of our budget that will have minimal impact on our staff, students, and the overall quality of our services. Once we have a better financial position, we can start to truly address school culture, special education supports, expanding SACC, and much more.
Our scores, while certainly not terrible, do have room for improvement. Having gone through the district however, I wonder if this issue stems from a lack of student-centered leadership. We have to transform our attitudes in schools to mitigate the "7-hour chore" feeling students have and turn our schools into a second home. From beautifying our hallways and connecting our student organizations to the board so they can affect change, to exploring more experiential learning opportunities and teaching self-advocacy. Scores will only go so high as the students are motivated to make them, but of course our testing is important, and will remain a topic of discussion as we adapt our policy/curriculum in lockstep with societal changes.
Improving our safety is essential particularly in a world marred by violence. As I think of the countless school shootings our nation has endured, I shutter at the thought of that happening here. That however, is not an excuse to make students feel imprisoned in their schools. We should teach about the consequences of students and staff opening our exterior doors, and levy strict discipline for safety protocol violations. We should teach about the proper channels to leave to the building, as well as how mental health plays a role in creating these horrible situations. I also would be in favor of employing the Guardian App (or something similar) to allow a reporting system for staff and students when potential safety concerns arise.

Inspire, Empower, Lead
I have served on the Board since 2022, and the past three years have been an amazing opportunity to set our district on a path toward continued success. I am asking for three more years on the Board so that I can continue making progress on academic achievement for all students, sound fiscal management, including continued oversight of the bond referendum projects, and promoting an inclusive school culture where every student is welcomed and belongs. I am committed to safe and healthy schools for our students where they can learn and grow together.
If elected to a second term, I will continue to prioritize academic success for all students, sound fiscal management, and promoting a welcoming and inclusive school culture. I support continued expansion of preschool seats through additional State funding to increase access to the program for our youngest learners. I will continue to advocate for reform of the school funding formula to ensure Cherry Hill gets its fair share, and I will seek out additional grants and opportunities to support new and innovative programming in our schools. I also look forward to continued oversight and completion of the bond referendum projects to ensure safe and healthy schools for our students and staff.
Standardized test scores are only one data point out of many that we use when measuring student success. This year, the Board voted to adopt a five year strategic plan, which has academic achievement as its first priority. The plan sets clear aims and goals around math, literacy, and science proficiency, experiential learning opportunities, and college and career readiness.
Additionally, I have supported curricular changes, such as the implementation of a consistent and effective math curriculum from kindergarten - Algebra 1, high school math pathways, and our new elementary ELA curriculum, based on the science of reading. I also supported high impact tutoring and access to basic skills instructors at all 12 elementary schools.
When I joined the Board in 2022, I supported the passage of the bond referendum to ensure safe and healthy school facilities for our students, teachers, and staff. Today, we are about ⅓ of the way through the bond work, and I look forward to completion of the projects over the next three years. Maintaining our buildings will be key to protecting the investments we have made.
Additionally, I believe that a positive, supportive school culture is important so that all students feel welcomed and included. Priority 4 of our newly enacted five year strategic plan focuses on school climate and family engagement, so that everyone feels a sense of belonging, empowerment, and support in a safe and secure school environment.
