Working in Emergency Management with New York State, I work every day to monitor incidents, coordinate with agencies, and provide clear communication to the public during emergencies. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to bring people together in high-pressure situations; skills that directly translate to serving as an Alderman. I have also spent years involved in community recreation and leadership roles, which gave me firsthand experience building programs that benefit families and neighborhoods.
First, I want to address public safety and emergency services by working to strengthen EMS coverage and supporting investments in our fire infrastructure, including a South End fire station. Second, I am committed to ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency in our city budget, so residents know their tax dollars are being spent wisely on services that matter most. Finally, I want to see long-term planning for redevelopment - transforming vacant or underutilized properties into opportunities that grow our tax base, create jobs, and improve quality of life for residents.
Accountability and being present are values I take seriously, and I will make them the foundation of how I serve as Alderman. I want residents to know that I will be available, responsive, and focused on addressing concerns directly. Outside of my professional work, I have spent many years as a swim coach, where I’ve had the privilege of mentoring young people and building teamwork in our community. Those experiences have taught me patience, dedication, and the importance of showing up - lessons I will carry with me in representing Ward 5.
