I am an independent thinker and in my day to day, others depend heavily on my ability to problem solve, critically think, utilize my resources and use sound judgement. My background in working with the special needs population and in hospice care has taught me to be a strong voice for the vulnerable — to passionately advocate for and protect their quality of life and wellbeing. I often navigate the very complex dynamics of others’ families and keep things running smoothly while ensuring whoever is in my care maintains the very best quality of life possible.

Though I now work independently and am reliant on my own judgment, I spent many years playing competitive sports and am fond of being a member of a team. I view the City Council as a team — a team with very complicated dynamics that would benefit from interpersonal collaboration. I believe the City as a whole will benefit from my voice and the perspective I’ve gained throughout the years.
Many of those in the 3rd Ward share concern for the abandoned properties in our neighborhoods. These neglected & vacant properties are not only an embarrassment and eyesore for those who live nearby, but they also have the potential to attract crime, lower property values, and pose health & safety risks. The state of these properties creates an atmosphere that discourages community involvement and investment.

The Dunn C & D Landfill is a facility that affects all of Rensselaer — especially those in Wards 2 & 3. While I recognize this is not an issue that can be resolved overnight, I will put every effort into helping shut it down.

The speeding cars in our City, especially on our side streets, pose an extreme danger to our community members and children. We must be proactive before a tragedy occurs.

I would like to see a real grocery store for Rensselaer sometime in our future — one that is more easily accessible for those with limited transportation.
My family has resided and been involved in the City of Rensselaer for generations. My parents were raised here; my husband & I were both raised here, & we have raised our own children in his childhood home, which we now own.

I come from a large family with an extensive background in public service. From PD & Council Members to FD & DPW, I was raised with the belief that we should all live a life of service. I don’t believe politics should have such a large role in everything. We all want the same thing -- a safe, clean, & robust environment for our families.

I have always loved this City. I would like the opportunity to effect real change in bettering my Ward. I know what a wholesome community we once were, and I see nothing but potential in making it an even better place for the community & our families.

I’m not intimidated about a difference in opinion. Titles don’t impress me, & I have no ego. I’m compelled to run because I believe I can make the changes necessary.
