Current Job State Government
Relevant Education Bachelor of Science in Community and Human Services
Relevant Experience and Qualifications Experience in State government policy and procedure creation and interpretation, business analysis. Pursuing a graduate certificate in Public Administration. I also serve my union as an elected Executive Board Member, Division Secretary, and Agency Statewide Labor Management Co-Chair. Certificate in Grant Writing.
I have experience in interpreting and applying policy, as well as creating documentation for process and procedure for State government, as well as in business analysis. These will be strong skillsets for a position on the Brunswick Town Council as we work to determine what public needs are, how best to solve the question of how to provide services to taxpayers and residents for a reasonable cost, and how to implement processes that meet the legal requirements and best practices.
I want to see the Council support and assist with implementing an updated Comprehensive Plan, development site plan requirements, and planning for future infrastructure projects to support responsible commercial development on Hoosick Road in Brunswick. I would also like to see Brunswick Town Government reinstitute many of it's public advisory boards and create an Ethics Board to hold government accountable to the public. All of this would serve to preserve and enhance our quality of life, keeping Brunswick a great place to live.
I want to give taxpayers peace of mind that their money is being spent well, for the right services at the right price. This means advocating for robust contracts that protect our tax dollars, our workers, and our residents. Government is supposed to work for the people; transparency and accountability are foundational to ensuring good government. I also believe in doing as much business in front of the public as possible. That means there should be, at a minimum, discussion on decisions being made by the Council, and an open dialogue between our elected officials to highlight the decision making process they went through before voting on a resolution. I believe that all residents deserve to have their voices heard and that no one should be treated poorly or met with aggression or condescension when they are expressing concerns or making suggestions.
