The top three issues in our district are public safety, saving our small businesses, and stopping dangerous, socialist antisemitic policies.
I will move to increase funding for the NYPD to hire more officers. I will sponsor a bill to regulate e-bikes, require licenses, and the NYPD can fine them for violating these laws. I will advocate for the reopening of large mental institutions by the state to remove the dangerous, mentally ill homeless off our streets so they can get the help they need, and we stay safe.

We need to support our small business by advocating for less regulations and red tape, as well as implement strategic tax breaks for businesses.

Finally, I will stand against potential Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his socialist policies that will hurt our city and drive out residents. I will vote NO on his policies and advocate my fellow council members to stand against him so we can fight antisemitism and socialism in New York City.
My top 3 priorities are hiring more police officers and getting them on our streets and subways during important hours of the day. I will start the process to work with our state to reopen long term psychiatric facilities to get the mentally ill homeless off our streets and subways. We need to change the laws so they can receive the care they need. My last priority is to create legislation to regulate out of control e-bikes. They will need to register with the city, have licenses, and will be fined for breaking traffic laws or endangering pedestrians.
To work with all relevant parties and partners to reopen our long term psychiatric centers in the next four years to finally get the, mentally ill homeless off our streets for good and get the help they need and deserve/give the mentally ill the care they need. This is ambitious as we will have to work with the New York State government and the city council to implement this policy.
The largest impediments will be navigating the Federal Disability Law and New York’s Mental Hygiene Law since there is currently a strict set of criteria to involuntarily remove people from our streets and institutionalize them. Additionally, this will require a high level of coordination between local and state governments which can take long durations of time. The state controls much of the funding and the laws that pertain to this issue so my role would be mainly advocacy. We need real leadership on this issue and have the guts to fight for what’s right.

Quality of Life and Affordability

Public Safety and Sanitation

Improving Public Schools and Early Childhood Education
Our city faces a myriad of challenges including affordability, public safety, and quality of life and I have been working hard to deliver results for you. In my first 2 terms, I am proud that over 25 of my resolutions and bills have become law. I passed legislation that requires hospitals to disclose their prices, licensing of hotels through the Safe Hotels Act, codified reproductive rights, streamlined small business interactions with government agencies and have set New York City on a path to be the first in the nation to have universal child care which will provide critical support to working families. During my tenure in the Council, I have delivered over $70 million dollars in discretionary funding which will bring significant upgrades to our parks, schools and infrastructure. I have worked hard to increase public safety, bring litter basket pickups to record levels, and launch a novel rat mitigation program. I hope to build on all of these in a third term.
